I recently purchased the okuma aventa.........and love it.......Its an entry level float reel imo ......but should be more than enough if you are just getting in to float fishing. I lost my mind the first five or six times I went out with it........takes a bit to get a handle on casting......but once you hook a fish you are gonna have the time of your life!!!!!

Hey Guys, I am in the market for a used boat and I think I have found my boat. I am unfamiliar with the steps involved in successfully transfering ownership over. Where do I go from here??? Do I pay tax at time of sale?? (how much is the tax?) Do you write up a bill of sale and have both parties sign it?? How do I check to make sure there are no leans on the boat?? Thanks for all the advice in advance!!! I appreciate it!!

Hey guys, I'm in the market for a bass boat and have started looking online. (kijiji , Craigslist, google). I was wondering g if you guys could give me a hand. I Am looking for 18 ft with trolling motor, fish finder, live well , rod storage First off, when looking for a boat what are some tell tale signs of a lemming. I don't know a great deal about boats and want to make sure I don't buy a money pit Second of all does anyone know of any good websites I should be looking at? I have a budget of 4000-6500. Thanks in advance!!!!

I can't make it. But I'll let you know that the Blue Water Anglers salmon derby was excellent this year. If I'm not mistaken they had some of the biggest salmon caught in the last decade. Biggest being 23 + lbs. hopefully it's a sign of things to come!!!!! -
Been working on the boat...new floors...improvements.

This is awesome!!! Ive been kicked off other forums for expressing my view on this topic. While rivers may be long and lakes may be vast, they sure seem to shrink when you get a million people on them lol. I post reports on other local sites that are vague in nature. Water temp, depth, lure choice, trolling speed, clarity. But at the same time I try not to pin point exactly where I was. A report such as this can at least set an angler in the right direction without attracting a million people to your area. \ IMO

We have a cottage at the South of Bernard, ice fish it almost every year!!! We mainly target Ling at night, but have caught some monster lakers out of there!!...There is also perch, rainbow trout (not common) and bass. If you can get out front of High Rock you will se the shanty town, the locals have pinpointed some of the best structure on the lake. Good Luck if you get out!!!

I just remember how pissed I was when I went to use my hut the next day and realized I had busted them. Hate to see that happen to other people....lol Speaking of the hut....I think its about time I got mine out of storage!!!!
-
I have the same hut as well, can't really complain. I have put it through hell and its still holding up well. Just a few suggestions though. Make sure if you pack it when it is really cold, take the plastic windows off and pack them seperately, they will crack if it is really cold. Also be careful when breaking it down, i broke one of the fiberglass supports last year. for 200 bucks, you can't ask for much more!!!

I am starting to plan my yearly icefishing trip up to Lake Bernard, and was researching augers. I was just wondering if any of you guys have the Eskimo Stingray, and if so, what do you think of it?? Any other suggestions?
