  1. Personally I didn't pursue girls at all when I was younger. Was always too busy fishing or paddling.

For me at least females just got in the way of what I really wanted to do.

I had the occasional girl pursue me...but I put zero effort into it until I reached the age of 32. :)

Umm is that how you got the solopaddler name? jk... :)

  2. Just wondering if you have a telecope and use a cmoputer to point i at a star that you can't see wheil in the city if you can see it? Like I was thinking of buying a telescope but I live in Toronto and can' see any stars. I am wondering if the extra magnification and light gathering abilities of the telescope would let me see the stars?

  3. Probably got caught running barbed hooks... It's all single barbless/no live bait in the upper reaches.

Thats my guess, Its been barbless and no live bait for a while. Ever since I was a teenager. The area they were fishing is a known fishing spot and it was open, so my first guess was barbs or live bait.

  4. I saw a CO writting up a pair of guys fishing on the credit somwere this weekend. He ad is ticket book out and was pointing somethign out to tem in the regs. I am not sure what it was, as I was just driving past. All you can really do is cal it in. take a picture and mail it to the MnR. To my understanding the MnR focuses there efforts on areas where they are most likely to catch someone. If an area keeps getting calls then is may get checked next season.

I don't think I would support a volunteer CO setup. It would cost so much money to get up and running. What if te volunteers get shot or beat up, or start a fight. Not a good scenario. CO's have alot of powers, and this is not something I would want to give to a volunteer CO.

  5. Budget will be the kicker here especially in the Muskoka's

I would take a look at Muskoka Bay in gravenhurst. http://muskokabayclub.com/accommodations.php

Very nice setup they have and a great golf course.

Taboo is nice as well but more pricey. www.tabooresort.com

Deerhurst is one not to ignore. http://www.deerhurstresort.com/ Its the largest of the three and has alot of stuff to do on the resort. the others are mostly just hang out and do your own thing. Although Taboo does offer some things as well through there rec services, I think the offerings at Deerhurst are a bit more broad.

As for the french area I couldn't say.

  6. My personal feeling for the Kawartha system would be to rotate the lake so that each lake is only allowed keeps for 1 out of the 5 years. Its a special ecosystem all being joined and needs special consideration... I think this would tremendously help the system as a whole, but I am no bioligist or pollitician. Imagine the Walleye boom if each lake was given 4 years to reproduce with no fish coming out of the lake. Combined with some sort of anual quota tagging system or reduce limits / slots or something to help curb obliterating the Keep lake of the year...

This would still allow people to fish CnR on all the lakes, but only keep from one lake each year. Balsam Year 1, Sturgeon Year 2, Scugog Year 3 etc....

This would also tend to help curb poaching from lakes and make it real clear for anyone keeping fish from lakes they shouldn't be.

Allowing the MnR to focus its resources more precisly on the keep lakes, with quick checks on the others...

  7. how about pictures of half naked women holding fishing lures

Ok well since this is a family rated forum, I can't post it here but if you go on youtube and search for my profile you can find out what kept me busy enough to miss the hockey games on saturday... my name on youtube is jedimastermopar

  8. If you get in a good groove on the highway and don't pass anyone I get about 25 ish I would guess. My durango was rated for 15mpg on the highway and I drove from Cochrane to Port perry on a full tank a few years ago, with 2 adults, 3 kids and lugga loaded to the max, no trailer. Had maybe an 1/16th left in the tank. so I think I got a good 4 or 5 mpg more than the rated amount. Sticker rating aren't real world. It depends on how you drive.

  9. I have a 2005 liberty, and I am very happy with it. It doesn't have V8 power, but the 3.7 V6 is plenty enough. Its very comfortable on the highway given it has independant front suspension. I haven't had any issues with mine, but I have only had it for about 3 months now. Pulls a boat with no issues, has a REAL 4x4 system, not an awd. It will get in and out of the hunt camp, pull the boat out of the water on a wet gravel ramp, and its easy to park in the city. The only issue I have is that it is no better on gas than some bigger vehicles. However I knew that as I wanted something heavy and stout enough to safely tow with, but I didn't want the size of a truck as I live and work in the GTA core. Whats good for me may not be good for you. If your primary concern is fuel, than you aren't looking to tow anything serious.

  10. I fully understand the need to take precautions, but I wonder if the stretcher wasn't just a little bit for show.

I know a guy that plays for the hawks, I'll forward your question on to him along with your address and he will let you know. :) haha

No I don't think it was for show, He got corked pretty good. They really need to be careful. If you don't get up, your going off on a stretcher.

  11. Yep thats why I ended up with a liberty and not a highlander, or else there would be a higlander in my driveway. I considered a Rav but, I just didn't feel safe having that as my primary to vehicle.

For me it came down to this. I expect to keep my Liberty for 3 years.

I currently spend about 200 per month in gas with it.Now a highlander would have saved me maybe 10 percent on fuel. Thats 240 dollars a year savings over 3 years, thats 720 dollars. an equal year and km higlander would have been about 5,000 dollars more. The way I figured it, I bought the liberty and I am sticking 120 dollars a month more in my pocket every month including the extra gas I spend over the highlander for the next 3 years. Thats enough for a couple new rods, some extra rsp money, and a new gun for the hunting season, as well as more gas for the boat.

Just something to consider. You could even put that extra money buying a domestic, and stick it in an TFSA until you need it for repairs and you will still come out ahead.

As for the ridgeline its a pretty decent looking vehicle, not sure if it came before the chevy one that looks similar. Mind you the honda is a unibody truck so its not going to be a like a turck but likely much better than an suv.

  12. They said on the radio 15 games next season would cost him 570k... OUCH!!! thats alot of years on my salary. I really don't know what is appropriate for this suspension. but I would think less than 10 games is really a slap on the wrist. I mean he really went in hard to hit him and left his feet in the process. This in itself is a charge and an illegal hit. and as such he should be suspended. Late hit, Not a late hit, Finishing his check or dirty hit. It doesn't matter to me. It was a charge and attempt to injure plain ans simple. I guarante you if he hits hossa and doesn't give the extra oompf and leaves his feet, adn hossa doesn't get carried away in a stretcher this play goes unnoticed.
