  1. Still kinda creeps me out. :) I will give it a try anyway. I have known for a long time that leeches work well, but I have always said frig that, I will just use worms. The preasure is on this time, with 4 kids in the boat this weekend, I will need all the help I can get trying to boat a few pic's

  2. So they won't suck the blood out of your finger? Thats what has always kept me away from using leeches. I figured the would attack your finger. Shoudl I put the hook through the sucker or behind the sucker. and hook it once or double hook it thorugh the body?

  3. Ok, so I am a Leach virgin. :) I was wondering do the leaches ever suck onto you when trying to hook them? How do you hook them? I was thinking of just using a rattling jig head and hook the leach on but I don't know how. May give it a try this weekend if the fishing is slow.

  4. EXCELLENT READ!! Will likely educate a lotta people today. I never realized that a private individual, or company, could dam up a waterway, cover THEIR property to a depth of several feet, with water, from a public stream, or river, but still retain the ownership of the land, UNDER that water, literally claiming ownership of the water too? ONE QUESTION . . . WHO or WHAT is continuously referred to all the way through the article as 'WHAT'S HIS NAME??"

I was under the impresion that you could do this as long as the waterway was not navigable between other bodies of water. eg if the punch a hole through the causeway and made the water navigable then people are allowed to pas through the water even if the land on either side is owned.

    At least thats my understanding.

  5. Hey thats cool about the band thing, we will be in my 99 silver Durango, Tenting as well. I think we are somewhere near the washroom. Not sure where that is. If the boat is not on the trailer we are in the water. I am not putting it on a slip it has a little bit of a leak in the shift cable bellows, and I don't wanna leave it in the water all weekend. :)

  6. I am gonna be in Camping in Pickeral Park this weekend as well. I will have my kids and wife with me. I will have my White and Blue Glastron inboard bowrider with a casting deck and trolling motor on the front. The boats name is Black Pearl. Give us a honk if you see us.

I am hoping I can get the young ones to hook into some pickeral. I was figuring on just drifting and let them jig worms. What sort of speed are you guys trolling minnows and crank baits with? Any spots I should try? I will definatly try and hook into some Bass if the pickeral bite is slow. Likely the kids will want to spend the whole weekend tubing so I may not get much time in fishing. :)

  7. Definatly out of scugog, not sure if any live ones are left, but I was out on Saturday and didn't see a single dead one, talked to my friend that was out on chemong and he said he saw hundreds of dead ones.

Looks like its just going to run its course. Has anyone caught any carp in the last week or so on scugog? Did they all die off?

  8. Just wondering if anyone has heard any more news regarding the Carp Kill? Last I heard they were collecting more samples.

btw, a friend of a friend has a small fish pond in his back yard and lives on pigeon, He did a water change with the water and all the carp were dead byt he next morning, and they looked the same as the dead carp found in the lake. seems like it may be something in the water???

  9. There is a DIY solution that you can try. There is a welding product that you heat the crack with a propane torch and then rub it on. It works really well on aluminum.

Its hard to find though. Better to get it repaired professionally though.

  10. A couple years ago I was fishing at Valley Inn road in burlingon and a bird got hooked by a fishing line that was caught up on a power line. People were trying all sorts of things to get it down. Eventually a guy that came by had a golf ball retriever and was able to free it up and it flew away. It was stuck for several hours though.

  11. I have a 99 durango with a 318.

The 2000 is when the 4.7 started. The first year of the 4.7 had a bad crank design that leads to significant sludging unless you use synth oils.

I love it. My wife drives it daily. Good power tows my boat easily.

Its no worse on gas than ANY other full size SUV that size, Escalade, Navigator etc... they all get between 12 and 15 mpg.

If you need the third row and want to tow and want 4wd its fine.

Just make sure its had all the recalls done.

  12. Caught some hogs, sorry no pics. But had 8 12+ one was 13.5

About a thousand boats at the narrows. For an hour when the minnows were fresh and the fish were on we couldn't get the lines down to the bottom before we were hooking them. Looked totally awsome on the aquaview.

  13. Thanks for the info, I won't be out on Sunday, but we are heading out right now, just printing off the instructions. Not too sure how to get to Tud Hope Park, Bt I have a feeling like its the main park in orillia the big one with the marina in town. At Least I hope thats the one.

  14. Just wondering where I should park and launch my boat saturday morning for the perch derby? I wanted to be up near the narrows, and I need to be fairly close to the main area as I have to buy my tickets still.

As exact directions as possible would be great as I am not familiar with the area. comming from the south up the 400.
