  1. I don't think a team will need to give up a tonne for Roberto. After all Vancouver has a huge contract on him to play as a backup. I wouldn't mind seeing riemer start 20 games and Roberto start 60 for the next 2 or 3 years. Reimer is not ready to stand on his own. neither was gustaf.

As for the Center I still have hopes for nash....

So what do you guys think will be the asking price for Nash and Luongo? Woul dthat be enough to shore things up presumming JVR pans out. Don't forget losing schenn, is a no brainer for me. It wasn't working as expected and the leafs drafted imo a better defensive prospect than Schenn.

  2. Its pretty clear that with reimer and Scrivvens, the leafs are not going ot make the playoff's. I am not blaming the lack of playoffs on reimer. I think he has potental. He just isn't there yet. The leafs are going to go hard after Luongo and if they don't get him they are in big trouble. I hear florida is also gunning for lou

  3. Ok so, I finally was able to give my new Ardent Edge pro a full on shakedown on the water. I was using the low gear ratio baitcaster paired up with a St.Croix Mojo Bass 7' crankbait rod. I was told to put all the brakes on and go from there. Its a similar setup to the curados with the little hat style braking system. Also was using 20 pound power pro. Anyway, I set the brakes, set the spool speed so the crankbait just started to fall and gave it a wing. Got a huge birds nest. I then started cranking the spool speed as tight as I could get it but I still couldn't cast it without a birds nest. Feeling a bit frutstrated and to be honest I was gonna put it away. I thought maybe I am casting too hard. So I eased off on the cast and pretty much just pitched it. Well all I can say is the results are unbelievable. I turned the spool speed back down to the point where it would just barely fall when you press the button and then a little bit tighter. Honestly I was so amazed by this real and how fast the spool is compared to all of my curados, from B's to E's.

I was literally amazed. Truley an awesome piece of kit. When you cast it you don't actually cast it like you would with a curado, its more of a pitch. The lure just shoots off the spool like a rocket. You know when you break a knot and you lure goes out a mile. Thats what its like. It does take some getting used to, and you can't cast it hard, but wow. Amazing. My second cast once I figured it out, went across a bay and halfway up into a tree. I am going to be listing all of my curados for sale shortly so keep an eye out. I just gotta work on the budget.

I have been a die hard curado guy for a long time, and have recommended them to everyone I talk to at any chance, but these reels are just astounding. The size feels in between the too smalle E and too big D. Anyway if you are in the market, check your budget and see if you can check out some of the Ardent lineup.

  4. If its birds nesting at the begining its likely you have the spool too free. I find most curados are happy with 3on 3 off. As well set the spool so you have to give it a jiggle before the lure will fall. Are you using braid, mono or flouro? If you had a bad birdsnest with mono or flouro then it could be the line is kinked up.

  5. I don't reimer for getting run but he was shakey at best after he back, and its obvious Gustafson is not going to be playing #1 for the blue and white any time soon. They need a number goalie. I don't think that can sit back and gamble on what they had last year this year again. I think Alaire was a big part of the problem as well, but the org has its hooks deep with him.

  6. The leafs had a real strong 3/4 of a season last year. Played tight and fast paced. Of course we all know how they fell apart, the defense got exposed and so did the goaltending. Everyteam has a few guys that cough the puck up, its innevetable. The leneed to further tighten up the d line, and pickup a goalie. I would like to see a big time center as well.

  7. There are some players I would like to see on the leafs that are available at some price point, Nash, Staal, Luongo... the list goes on. Listening to an interview Nonis and he is saying there are no talks going on about moving anywhere in the draft and that they won't likely be able to get the forward they want so they will settle for the best player available and that's likely going to be a defenseman.

It doesn't really sound like any big moves will be made the leafs have the 5th and 35th, so hopefully they can pick someone up thats useful
