I trying to find an outfitter or lodge with an air base somewhat close to our home in Haliburton, Ontario.  I usually fish northwestern Ontario, but I’m trying to cut down on travel time to the fly-in base.  Can anyone recommend a place in eastern Ontario or Quebec that we could get to in less than 6 hours?  We fish northern, walleye and trout.  Thanks in advance.

There Air Cochrane likely the closet that goes into real remote areas in the east. They are a pretty lousy outfitter with no amenities including a water pump  not. And leaky boats with some questionable motors. I began going to NWO again and the fishing great and it's more beautiful the north eastern James - Hudson's Bay lowlands. Good luck caution with Ivanhoe Outfitters as well. A gem is Kesagami Lodge but it's very expensive. Went there once and caught 60 to 100 walleyes/ per boat per day. Big pike also including some tankers.

Not sure if Bradley Air still flies out of Swisha into Quebec.

It's a 5 minute drive from Rolfton Ontario,  near Deep Rive.

Swisha is also known as Rapids des Joachims

They used to fly into a lot of lakes out of there

Check out Lake Kipawa, Quebec

1 hr from North Bay - an easy drive from the GTA

Lots of outfitter options, some drive to some boat in , and Reelpro Fishing Chatters

Smallmouth Bass by the hundreds and also great fishing for Walleye, Lake Trout and Northern Pike.

A normal day sees some of all species.

Who needs fly-ins when you can drive in ?

Kipawa seems like a fly in - 2000km of mostly empty wilderness shorelines.

Also lots of drive to lakes all around Kipawa that are as good as any fly in .

100 + fish days , Bass, or Walleye, Lake Trout, Brook Trout, Northern Pike

Zec Restigo, Zec Kipawa, Reserve Beauchene
