harse77 Posted August 1, 2013 Report Posted August 1, 2013 Hello fellow anglers. I am new to the forum and fairly new to fishing as well. Any advice for fishing the grand in the Caledonia area? I like to take my for year old daughter along so kid friendly spots would be best.
Fish4Eyes Posted August 1, 2013 Report Posted August 1, 2013 Try near the Caledonia Dam. If your not after any particular species, I would just cast out a worm.
harse77 Posted August 1, 2013 Author Report Posted August 1, 2013 Thanks for the tip I'll let you know how it turns out.
Garry2Rs Posted August 1, 2013 Report Posted August 1, 2013 There is a village downstream from Caledonia called York. There is some sort of little park along the bank of the river just down from the bridge. It used to have lots of little small mouth and rock bass
Fish4Eyes Posted August 1, 2013 Report Posted August 1, 2013 There is a village downstream from Caledonia called York. There is some sort of little park along the bank of the river just down from the bridge. It used to have lots of little small mouth and rock bass When I was younger we did pretty good there for catfish during the summer, particularily where the stream splits to the left, away from the main river. My neighbour also fishes there with waders in the main river area and does pretty good.
harse77 Posted August 1, 2013 Author Report Posted August 1, 2013 Thanks for the tips. I tried by the dam downtown today and got a few bites. Next time I'll try York.
