Sturgeon Falls

has anyone fished Sturgeon Falls off the 17 hwy? i am heading to elliot lake 2nd week in july for my weekly vacation and always wanted to stop and fish there off the road for an hour rest and try out my new berkley GlowStik i had ordered from Cabelas.... any help would be great... Bud

Here is a picture of the train tressle, taken from where I fished last February.

That is very close to where U are talkin' bout.

 

It is called Minihaha Bay.

At this time of year, they will be fishing fer Silver Bass, with the odd out of season Walleye thrown in for good measure, from shore below the dam behind the Legion. You can park in the Legion parking lot fer free and walk down, you will see the other anglers there.

By the time you get to Phoenix, ...er, there in July, there will be very little if anything below the dams.
