Ice conditions between Sud -> espanola

Trying to figure out if there is any chance the ice is out up there.

 

Given the weather forecast for the coming weekend, i thought it would be a great one to open up the camp. I would be canoeing in...

 

Any insight is appreciated!

Wait another week. Sure, some lakes are open but unless you have experience breaking through ice using an axe while kneeling in the bow of your canoe, stay at home.

still ice in algoma district.

Right now shorelines are starting to open up, but from the lakes that I've seen in the Sudbury area, there's still quite a bit of ice cover. We'll have to wait and see what this warm spell can do to get rid of some more of the ice.

Thanks guys for the feedback...gonna keep my eyes on the coastwatch site for updates...I looks like the ice is deteriorating really quick and I may be in luck.
