basketclam Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 I'd like to hook into some catfish or bullheads in the Grey-Bruce area. Has anybody got advice on bait? Waterbodies/locations? Time of day? I've spent a few evenings on the Saugeen using beef liver piled high with garlic salt and haven't had a bite yet. Any help would be well appreciated.
spinnerbaitking Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 I haven't been there for a few years but I used to rent boats from Mc Donald's camp on the Saugeen for my kids birthday, we fished across the river between the bridge and the merc marina don't remember the name, mostly afternoon threw the evening using worms, we always got catfish and the odd sheephead, the guy running the camp was always a great help even helped clean what we kept, the birthday's are May 15 & 30, so we were fishing some time between then and the middle of June, was thinking of trying it this year but don't know if I can find the time. hopefully canoeing the Saugeen this Saturday, toothy critters Richard :Gonefishing: :Gonefishing:
basketclam Posted June 8, 2009 Author Report Posted June 8, 2009 Thanks for the tip. Looks like nightcrawlers will be my next bait.
