Thanks for that story old ironmaker. I love hearing stories from Finland. Its such a mysterious county in that they don't have much tourism or many visitors. I want to go sometime in the next couple years....see my extended family and explore the land.

I know what your saying Bill .... BUT, only in NA did anyone consider the states to be a contender. they have only received two medals in hockey since 1980. they really are overrated here in NA. internationally, no one gave the USA any thoughts of a medal. Canada, Sweden, Russia, Finland (these are the biggest medal winners in the last three decades). we live in NA, as such we buy into the NHL propaganda about how great NA teams are. Not sure if you follow the international HF boards but reading how the world sees international hockey, the states, and their two medals in 30 years, aren't nearly the favourite they are here in NA. Its going to be a fun morning tomorrow

i'm sorry, Finland ALSO got their heart ripped out yesterday. it was equal playing field. Finland just came back with a bigger HEART and showed who was boss. Selanne went out in style. I'm so proud of my boys. If it wasn't for Rasks illness during the Sweden game I'm confident it would have been a Finland Canada gold medal final.

Teemu = HEART! 2 goals against the Yanks (so far).

Heart? Absolutely! Taking care of USA as we speak. Keep it up Finns. You continue to impress and if we get this bronze we will continue to have the most medals in olympic hockey since the NHL joined the olympics.

I have an opportunity to join a friend and fish that lake this year. (likely late spring - may'ish) Does anyone know if there is a boat ramp on the lake that i could launch my 17' tiller? I have 4x4 truck. Thanks! Steve edit: Ashigami lake is also a possibility. A launch on that one?

wasn't me, but a good friend of mine caught a lake trout from N bar on a piece of sausage worked on a three way. lakers are dumb. they'll hit anything ...

i'm sorry, i watched the game. i don't follow stats, cause clearly, as per the above, they don't dictate much about the actual hockey game. if a AAA team beats a house league team by one goal, and out shoots them 10 to 1, does that mean the AAA team didn't stink? nope, they stunk! just like we did!

oh, try and find out who makes the hooks on their frogs.... ever try to sharpen one of the frog hooks? very very high carbon ... makes it very difficult to sharpen.... that is because they are cheap hooks (higher carbon hooks break, not bend, and cannot be sharpened). too bad because i'd love to support Grant Koppers....good ole Canadian.

if you are looking for a lure that holds up, right out of the package, in all seasons, for all species, look no further than YOZURI / DUEL (same company). i have not had a live target lure "crack", but I had the eye fall off one, lol. i've bent treble hooks and taco'd split rings on them however. for the cost of the lure, you'd think they would put on real hardware. the livetarget rep/promotional staff on bfb ignored me when I asked about the hardware used on their new "baitball" series of lures.

Live Target lures ..... what can be said. You are buying an expensive lure without adequate split rings or hooks. if you look at megabass, yozuri, lucky craft, etc, you will see they use top end split rings and hooks. as dwc said, it sucks watching a mid size fish (10lbs brown, bow, etc) destroy a treble hook. god forbid you use them for salmon. AND the reps at the fishing show represent their smelt baits for sping king baits....when doing so, I ask if the hooks and split rings are satisfactory for spring kings --- all I get is a dumb look back at me.

well, glad we won the game.....but.....wow - we are going to really have to wake up and step it up .... four notches .... i hope crosby turns his game up a couple notches as well.
