  1. Sorry Limey,

    Slimed signage disqualifies your catch.

    Read the rules.

    Section 8:1:6, states:

"Her majesties spies are not allowed to enter slimed signage in any North American competitions, particularly, when they live in a great place and fish twice a day or 28 times per fortnight"

It's an old rule that I've lobbied to get rid of.

    Sorry man.

    Bullocks

    :dunno:

  2. If you are casting and know you'll be in an area with pike up to 20lb:

    30lb braid

60-80lb. flouro leader (wire is o.k. too)

Using anything less then 20lb. line on a big fish is too risky for both parties.

    I've lost enough to know.

Of course you can bring in a fish on light line but a heavier line protects you (and the FISH).

You'll reduce play time. heavier line prevents rock, wood, ice abrasion and critter cut-offs.

You will be able to lift the fish up a little/lot better.

Always use a leader. Pikes teeth will cut through braid.

  3. I think that you will notice many more people keep what they catch on the ice vs. on the softwater

Not sure why that is, but it seems to be a trend

    I think it's because after you've dedicated

    a day to planning

    a day to freezing

    You want to kill something.

    It's a base instinct.

We are happy, peaceful and sympathetic when it's warm.

    Warm and fuzzy.

  4. They allowed you back into the country?? :wallbash:

I think it was around the 3rd call that I thought,

"Heyyyyyyyy, wasn't he going on vacation????"

Then I had a laugh knowing that I took up all that space and upon your return all you'll here is some maniac giddy over some fish!!

    Moral of the story;

Another successful lunch hour there SNAG!

Inspired by your posts went looking for open water on the T.O waterfront for pike and found some birds instead.

Didn't catch any pike but saw some interesting birds.

Got out the baitcaster and casted x-raps for first time this year
