I'm getting 22mph max on calm water, 20 with a passenger. Compared with my old pontoon with a 30hp I am lightning fast now! The boat has a Canadian rating of 40hp max and US 50hp max. I may grumble later but coming from a old pontoon boat I'm happy with the speed.

I may get 2 more batteries for the trolling motor as the 80 Minn Kota lasts about 90mins at 2.2-2.4mph for trolling on Lake Ontario. There is a battery tray between the 2 middle storage (under pedestal support) so maybe 1 there and 1 to the left side of the front middle storage.

How old are the batteries?  90 minutes seems pretty short even at high power.

Who do you think you're kidding.  That's the reason you bought it in the first place.  😉

I will definitely miss the Etobicoke location - very easy for me to get to from Mississauga and no need to use the 407 unlike Vaughan or Burlington (well right now its fine as 401 is pretty clear right now)

I am not exactly sure where it was but I always remember a big trip out was my grandfather taking us to Lebaron in Richmond Hill (believe it was on Yonge North of Highway 7)  We would then Hillcrest Mall to eat in the food court...  Good times, better memories

There was one on Woodbine north of #7.  Prior to that, they were located on Yonge north of Finch.  I don't ever recall a LeBaron's in Richmond Hill.

Sorry if I’m mistaking what your issue is, but I was having issues with minkotta’s plugs so at the recommendation of my close electrician friend I switched my entire plug to a heavy duty twist lock RV plug. I was able to buy one at the Home Depot.

He actually switched his on his boat too because he said the minkotta plugs are crap in comparison. I personally absolutely love the conversion. It’s way more heavy duty and the wire holders are far far sturdier. (I was having a problem with my wires falling out of the minkotta receptacle which actually caused a fire in my boat)

I have the Marinco plug.  I believe that they make the Minn Kota plug too.  I agree with them being crap.  I am planning to replace mine.

Sold their plane division a few moths ago. Their rail division is done, now their outboards. They should be looking for a crapload of taxpayer cash soon. I guess we wont be seeing any of the money we lent a few years ago. I hope they dissolve completely.

You're mixing two different companies up.  BRP is separate from Bombardier.

Big news in the boating industry! I do believe that what most people don't understand when it comes to these big block engines how you break it in and maintain them is everything. I was never a believer in not having to break in an engine, I put in the full painful 10 hours of break-in every year with my Yamaha's and my engines ave been super reliable.

The thing that I don't understand about this is, "they're going to focus on their boat brands?" which they only got into recently?

It seems strange to me too.  I thought that one of reasons for acquiring the boat brands was to boost outboard sales by packaging their boats with Evinrudes.  I think that Mercury has had a big advantage over Evinrude in the last couple of decades because they owned several boat brands and could package their boats and motors.

They usually only put tubes in trailer tires if the beads are too corroded to seal.

Might be time for new rims if this is true.

Well, it took me three tries to find a place that would fix a tire with an inner tube.  When I picked it up, he told me it there was not inner tube, he justed needed to replace the valve...

I have no idea why the guys at Canadian Tire thought it had an inner tube.

  8. I was checking out the forecast and it showed 128km/h winds with gusts up to 192 km/h on Thursday.

Fortunately, they updated it before I could post and it nows shows a more manageable 16km/h out of the south.  But was an interesting few minutes while I pictured the wave action resulting from those winds.

Early '80's a treble still counted as 3 when live bait fishing, hence sucker rigs for Musky used a single and 1 treble. Later the rule was changed so a treble was considered 1 hook . A treble was always considered 1 hook for artificial  lures but only 3 were allowed on a plug, not sure when that was upped, definitely the rule in the '60/70's.

It was definitely four in the mid-eighties.  I didn't read the regs before that; so you could be right about a three hook limit in 60/70s.

The old days when the flatfish with 2 pairs of trebles on those hangers/spreaders were illegal too, could not even use 2 trebles on a musky quick strike harness.

When would Flatfish have been illegal?  For as long as I can remember, a treble counted as one hook when attached to an artificial lure, and four hooks were allowed per line.  So, four trebles on a lure would have been legal under those rules.

Under the new rules, a treble counts as one hook regardless of whether it's attached to an artificial lure or not.

lickmyarmpit I thought the blade flexibility would decrease performance but have not owned one so I didn't comment on that.

Flexibility may actually improve the hole shot because the flexing effectively reduces pitch.  But you may lose some top end speed for the same reason.
