The one I caught in Frenchman's Bay near the little bridge in open water was a more greenier color...The ling I ate was from Lady Simcoe... I was told it was like poor man's lobster so I gave it a try...can't remember if I cooked it or my first wife R.I.P.

Spawning male bowfin often have a lot of green on them.

I would assume that air intake has a fitting that connects to some kind of "snorkel" either in the boat or higher up above the waterline.

Yes, Bombardier is probably the most mis-managed corporation in Canadian history...they're fortunate to be headquartered in Quebec so the Liberals keep them afloat for the sake of political expediency. Hopefully the engineers there aren't complete dolts like the senior executives..

Are you referring to Bombardier that manufactures aircraft and public transportation vehicles; or BRP that manufactures Ski Doos, Sea Doos, etc.?  They are two completely different companies.

Can anyone tell if this stern in short or long shaft? I only have a pic. I am thinking short due to the dip.

Probably short.  Almost all small boats are.  You can measure it.  I think it should be around 15" for a short shaft and 20" for a long shaft.

You can get a new tohatsu 9.8 for under 3k. Everything is four stroke except evinrude which still has a oil injection style 2 stroke.

It's been over two years since Evinrude was shut down.  Their smaller motors were made by Tohatsu that were priced about $1,000 more than the same more with either Mercury or Tohatsu decals on them.

Bass Pro usually has a sale on Mercuries in the spring.  That is where I found the best price.  I purchased a 5hp kicker there four years ago.

oops...I have a Nissan too. Knew I was forgetting someone. The Nissan has been fine as well

I think that Nissan would have actually been a Tohatsu with Nissan decals.  A 9.9 Merc would be a Tohatsu with Mercury decals.

I haven't any any major issues with either my 2008 50hp Mercury or my 5hp Mercury/Tohatsu.

Haven't seen much posted lately but not too many years back there were lot's of complaints about Tracker boats having issues and it seemed as if many of the guys had a terrible time getting Tracker to fix the problems. You could look it up on Google and there were all kinds of complaints about lousy customer service.

++++Just for fun I just typed "Problems with aluminum tracker boats" in Google and this was the 1st thing that popped up++++

Hope this helps Chrispy, I'd hate to see you get stung.

but back to 2 stroke, anyone hear of any legislation coming or in the works? I have 4 of them and don’t want to get stuck with motors I can’t take anywhere.

In terms of outboards, they're not making any more of them.  I wouldn't expect to see a ban.  But in another 20 or 30 years.  But in the next few decades, two stroke motor oil may become difficult to find.

Well I can believe that by the ratio of EV's compared to ICE's.  Then you have to take into account of what caused the fire in a gas vehicle, did an electrical problem cause it or was it an actual fire started from leaking fuel.

Gas vehicles have more fires per capita; not just more overall.  And the ratio is about 10 to 1.

OR if they have no fishing licence, AND are not yet 65 years old......

Actually, a license is not required to possess fish.  I think that there must be more than two limits of fish involved here.  Plus, the CO/Game Warden must have suspected something in order for them to inspect the freezer to begin with.  I suspect that there is a little more to the story than what we are being told.

Even if you gift fish  to a person that person can not possess over a limit

so from the little info you gave, they are guilty

But two people each leaving a daily limit of fish would not put them over the possession limit…
