Again, another great game ended in a useless shoot out. Play 4-4, 3-3. 2-2, 1-1. I remember a tourney my son played that went down to 1-1. Both goalies played a big part.

I agree a championship should never end in a shootout.

But 1-1? Lol, players would have heart attacks

Even 3-3 is insanely hard on the body

  2. The resins in cedar smoke are highly carcinogenic from what I have read. Something worth looking into. Doesn't sound too nice.

    They are indeed

    Cedar is to be respected

It's more the leafs however, not the wood

  3. Personally, I don't like any braid <15lb test. Most of my spinning reels have 20lb test Powerpro on them. Anything else, especially the 8 stranded braids, is just too thin for me. I wouldn't use 20lb test on a size 1000 reel though.

I was just at two CT's today and they had Powerpro at $18 to $19 for 150yards and PowerPro Superslick at $24 - 10lb to 50lb test. Grabbed a spool as a backup.

Im the opposite. I love thin braid, hate higher tests

The only time I will use a higher test(which is due to me obsessive nature to try) is vertical jigging

  4. Rule # 257B in the NHL fans handbook says:

Fans of teams who are in the conference finals and ahead in the series must refrain from initiating or participating in negative communications with fans who's team either did not make the playoffs or were eliminated in the first round. Only communications with those still relevant to the playoffs is encouraged.

    ???

Actually, sturgeon hook ups aren't really that rare in the Eastern Basin of Erie at all. The issue is, because 95% of the fishing is bass and walleye on spinning tackle, it's just that...hook ups. A 4 footer will peel you clean in no time.

A 24" sturgeon will spool you lol. They can fight like crazy, or just sit on bottom, nothing you can do to make them come up on walleye gear

But.... My biggest one came on 8lb test and a 6'6" rod. It took an hour but I got her. Although I felt like my rod was gonna snap the whole battle lol

Sturgeon make the most insane runs ever.

  6. We have them here in the St.Lawrence also but you are not allowed to fish for them or keep them. Last year they found 4 of them locally in the river that had been cut open and the eggs removed then the rest of the fish just thrown back into the river. Last I checked they have not caught the person/persons who did it.

They are such an awesome looking fish.

    Happens here too, unfortunately

But, we can't fish for them, but mnr will allow a c&r photo.

I still try my hardest to stray from them as they are major nuisance when walleye fishing

I posted a photo years back of I think 4 fish netted and left in like 8" of water to die, ill see if I can find the pic

  7. Awesome, hows the sturgeon population over there?

It's unreal. I have no scientific numbers but I'd say in 200km of river it's in the millions

If I sit on the patio at night, you can watch them jump, thousands, hours on end

    Truly beautiful

  8. Bill, their so chill you can just grab the tail. I haven't done it but I've watched as rrfn collects for the hatchery

Akri, we smoke a few. Maybe 10 per year ish. Again, I don't because it's illegal, but my wife's uncle does.

Biggest I've seen was the one I caught on walleye opener 2014, no official measurements but I'd say 8' around 90-100lbs

I've seen bigger watching the spawn though. Probably around 140lbs free

  9. My father finally chucked them a few years ago from the family garage. Oh no. I thought they were safe there. He also gave away a game ball I left in the rec room signed by OJ Simpson, my fault and no one elses. My cousin couldn't believe it was OK by me to give him the ball he has been eyeing since 73'. What am I going to say, I want it back after he gave it to his grandson? Oh well.

Skateboarding is a weird culture. They really appreciate the past, and will spend untold amounts of money on select "historical" pieces, be it boards, shoes, photos or adds.

Go on eBay and look for ès footwear Eric koston 1's

Also, I feel your pain about things being given away lol

My great uncle was a card collector, when he passed in a car accident it was passed on to me.

When I went to work in grande prairie I stored it at my mom's. She needed more room and stored it at a friend's. Oh my

I had Every rookie card mint from Fran tarkenton to Michael Jordan etc(in fact I had about 50 Michael Jordan and Wayne Gretzky rookie cards)

    Hard one to accept

  10. I don't, hated Mullets but do miss skateboarding on death traps in the 60's. Steel wheels just wide enough to fit in any crack in the road, the hardwood boards were 6" to 8" wide, maybe. I hear if I still had ours they are worth a few bucks to collectors. How much Rick?

Hahaha, oh depends on the board. I have several from the 2000s already worth $500-$600

Many of those older boards would easily be in the thousands
