  1. May this thread never die! Lol.

Ive tried at least 15 recipies on here so far and everyone is a smash hit!

Now im getting emails and pm's with recipies and I love it! Sooo much to try and it keeps things fresh for the family

You boys can chef it up!

And you can never go wrong with crappie, EVER!!!!

  2. Just drooled all over the keyboard again. That cabbage looks VERY interesting, care to share? Wouldn't mind trying that myself I usually just make sauerkraut out of any left over cabbage I have (it's a good thing LOL). But I love cabbage soooooo!

Have a beautiful free range chicken that Lukasaurus (Steve) and his beautiful wife Llori gave us a couple of weeks ago on the BBQ as we speak getting all golden and smoky. The rest of the dinner is just the "back to basics" kind of meal, mashed taters (dressed up a little with some cream cheese, some onion chopped up but not too fine, mixed in after the taters are mashed so it is still nice and crunchy and a hint of garlic, carrots and parsnips, and some cauliflower with cheese sauce. Dessert is a cherry cheese cake which is sitting in the fridge setting right now. Our company is due to show up any minute now! Happy Easter everyone!

    Sounds great bigger Cliff?

Your not the only one interested in that cabbage haha. I pmed spiel immediatley after he posted ?

  3. Oh man Spiel thats gonna be great!!!

No cooking for me until tomorrow. Ill post pics when the shenanigans settle.

30 or so family members coming for the day tomorrow lol. So Ill be very bust cooking about 15 different dishes.

I gotta make good food for the kids, then seperate dishes for the adults. And its always tough because the aboriginal side loves food as it is. The italian/ukranian/norwegian side wants superfoods seasoned to perfection lol

  4. Yea different Rick, that's what my wife says, I sure am different. Ever send the new guy on the crew to find a skyhook. One kid came back with a crane hook for a 300 tonner dragging it behind a loader, 4 hours latter.

    Hahaha.

When I worked for weyehaueser sawmill in ear falls we used to ask greenhorns to go fetch the board straightener???

Or glue pop cans on their hard hats to see how high we could get before they noticed.

    All fun and games

  5. Any of the river fishing folks seen suckers yet in the creeks or rivers? Time to start building my cutbait supply for catfishing!

The dew worms were out in full force on my lawn last night, the timing of that and the suckers in the creeks is usually pretty close...

    Thanks

    Pete

Suckers and pike are going nuts up here on Rainy river

  6. I use facebook and im not even sure how many friends I have on there? Maybe like 50? They are almost all friends I conversate with regularily or I can keep in easy touch when they move. I also have family on there that live away from me.

Its a great way to keep in touch IMO.

also I do post alot of pictures, but thats for a few reasons.

One I have a horrible memory so its nice to look back on once in awhile.

two it gives my family a look at what they miss, and vice versa. Kids grow up fast man its nice to see regular pics of nephews nieces etc.

and some of its just comedic relief. Alot of funny stuff gets posted on facecrack.

  7. We played alot of mean jokes in the oil field.

I once got sent on a 16 hour security shift to the middle of nowhere at a lease site that hadn't been used in years. That was cool though cause 1)I still got payed for it. 2)because I seen a bunch of caribou for the first time ever.

Another guy got lifted about 8 feet off the ground with a loader while in the can. He was very mad

We got a guy to operate a skid steer without any instructions at all. We all sat in the tower laughing for hours???.

It took him a good 40 minutes just to figure out it wouldnt start until the harness was down(he was a computer type of guy). Once he got it fired he zig zaged and rocked back and for the whole trip(which was about 300 yards but took him a good hour to get there)

Maybe you just have a different sense of humor old ironmaker? Nothing wrong with that either?

  8.

    Bruce

I just boiled up a nice ham and baked it. The left over flavored boiled water, just finished with some 3 whole onions and celery and carrots. That will be in the fridge til Saturday, to be mended with the left overs from good Fridays remains.Easter Sundays fix,n, will be soooooooo good.

    Mmmmmmmm

  9. We had a draw at work a few years back and one of the prizes was a new iphone.this younger lad I worked with was constantly on his iphone and we razzed him about it pretty hard.

So anyhow for an april fools joke myself and my boss came up with an idea.

So hes off working and he used to leave his phone on my tool area in the shop. I took out the chip and waited patiently for him to return and get upset.

When he did, I teased him abit that I had it and I smashed his phone with a forklift. Man was he MAD!!!

We calmed him down telling him it was only a joke because he had won the draw for a new iphone. Then he was stoked.

Problem was the draw didnt happen until the end of that work day?

Imagine his face when I won the draw???

Anyhow we razzed him abit before the boss told him it was all set up and he had already bought him a new phone with a year of free service.

  10.

The longest pike ever recorded and confirmed was 152 cm (60 in) long and weighed 28 kg (62 lb). A pike of 60.5 in (154 cm) was caught and released in May 2004 in Apisko Lake, Manitoba. Historic reports of giant pike, caught in nets in Ireland in the late 19th century, of 4142 kg (9093 lb) with a length of 173175 cm (6768 in), were researched by Fred Buller and published in The Domesday Book of Mammoth Pike.

Im not saying its impossible. Its just a huge tease and embellishment thats all.

He makes it sound like thats a normal pike.

But I suppose thats the "lure" of his show.

He does it well enough that I myself still watch? so I shouldnt complain.

I swim in big pike territory, maybe ill be the next to get killed by one? After all I wear a perch pattern colorado blade around my neck ???

  11. Yeah we got some deadly slabs.

I still cant figure them out but I sure get lucky. I have no idea how these fish act at all, bit im quickly building a rep for catching them en mass via luck haha.

Sawbill trip this year was my bad.

We will make er sooner or later???

  12. Should be an interesting night at the First Niagara Center tonite. A reverse polarity warp of cheers and boos? Leafs jerseys with sabre logos, Sabre jerseys with leaf logos. Its amazing what McEichel has done and they havent even stepped on the ice yet

Two months or so ago Eichel was getting alot of coverage and hype. Then poof! I rarely hear anything about him.

All the hockey talk seems more geared to McDavid at this point

  13.

You should probably just come out and ask for everyones best muskie lake. Oh wait, you just did.

And what's the matter with that?

Name a lake, it's not like hes gonna go slaughter your favorite spots lol.
