I forgot about that show! That was a good one! Don't understand why they dropped it, yet they keep 'Pro Tarpon Tour'...what a rodeo!?! I can't turn quick enough when that crap is on.
Were they ever on WFN? Ive always just watched on youtube.
Those guys are awesome!
-
Okay so anyone remember that youtube channel of those younger guys that catch wicked fish and have a blast doing it?
I need to rewatch their shows. They are awesome
Edit. Uncut angling. Watch their shows if you havent seen them

I cant het it in hd either.
I have shaw.
Its a bummer becaue its makes all the shows look like they are filmed in the early 90's ???

Just a heads up on gloves. Most protective gloves guard against cuts. They do not protect your hands from hook penetration. You probably won't be able to cut the glove off yourself and in many cases, the walk in clinic you go to may not be equipped to cut it off either. Keep that in mind when choosing a glove.
Yep good info roy, again though thats why i suggest sawfiling gloves to learn. They will not be penetrated by teeth or hook

Yup, I understand that, I was talking more about the rubber gloves that so many guys use.
Maybe I should type what I'm thinking LOL
Oh yeah lew, rubber or even worse leather. Your asking for a disaster if your not very experienced.
Also, at pump knows.
Practice on small fish if possible. As soon as you grab the pike, get it horizontal with your free hand supporting the belly. They thrash alot less, and hurt the fish less. Also if it does flop free, gravity is more on your side then if the fish is vertical.
Look at proper grabbing techniques. The gill plate is a no no imo. Its just as sharp as the teeth lol.
Get your hand inside as close to the mouth as possible. With confidence and a firm hold. Firm enough that if the fish flops you wont drop it, but not with jazz hands where it shakes abit and you drop it lol.
Yes your fingers will be in its mouth, but it cannot bite you in this position

No teeth or hook is going through sawfiling gloves lew.
Thats why i suggested it until he get comfy.
Yes though, always have proper pliers and good hook cutters just in case

The guy caught nice fish, hes excited. Obviously doesnt have a ton of experience.
So lets all gang together and try to get this guy to pick up a new hobby???
He will get better. And have alot of fun doing it! Thats how we all start.
Geez I shutter when I think about catching northerns as a child. Floppin all over the boat because I was too scared to handle them better. Now its a non issue.
He is a tip that was passed on to me along time ago.
Grab a pair of sawfiling gloves. Once you learn how to grab a pike, youll be laughing at how easy it is and you wont need gloves and youll be confident enough to grab any pike straight outta the water.
And grab em on slack line. If they feel that tension thats when they wanna go nutso.
Nice fish and never mind the bashing. Some people here have never EVER mishandled a fish???

Thanks sir!You are very talented Rick. Anyone can cook a meal, not many can create one. Pudda? If the pic goes with the name it looks like Perogie, but on the plate it looks like mini Perogie.
What's Pudda sir?
I have a rule when it comes to food I eat, nothing blue. The blue in Blue cheese is really dark green, so I tell myself. If it is blue it's an exception to the rule.
Puddaha, yes it is perogies. And they take alot of time to make. Mine were stuffed with potatoe and cheddar, boilded, then baked with salt pepper onion and bacon, also some of the bacon grease poured over top before baking? and there not really mini lol, just homemade. They dont look perfect like those frozen cheapies
And Bruce thats awesome!!!!

I made 36 in total. That was just what fit in the presentation big cliffWhat I want to know is; how come there are only 7 1/2s there?
Lol I just noticed the green ones almost look like avacados

Yes Bill M troll for them. that I can easily do. Now all I need are some Fire Tiger coloured bricks.
You do have a sense of humour????
That was funny sir!

Same as for the shells, very interesting!
When my sons were young, I would do up red mashed potatoes for Valentine's Day and green ones for St Patrick's Day. We also added some colour (don't remember which one, maybe blue???) to chocolate milk for Hallowe'en and the result was a disgusting looking thing that we called Witches' Brew....
Doug
I did a rez style green eggs and ham(fried bologna) and the kids loved it. Friggen creeped me out hahaha.
Here is a kids plate from today, missing stuffing and wild rice casserole(can only fit so much)?

To some its a dream job.
You gotta love to work eat and entertain.
Its not for everyone.
Aside from the two owners I posted about, 6 or so turned out to alcoholics, divorced, or bankrupt.
Or any combination of the three

The show didn't air in Canada, but I do know that 1 of the lodges Wade fished with is North Shore Lodge on Eagle Lk,I tried to paste a link to their Facebook page but had no success ,checkout the page yourself if you want to see the type of muskie fishing this area has to offer. There are some photos of Wade.Btw I used to be next door neighbors with Scott the owner.
Not to derail but were you around about oh say 10 years or so ago when they got hit with that tornado?

Always been a dream of mine. Im still young and have a great place to build.
Once I did alot of research and developed a solid business plan, even had up to $750,000 in forgiveable loans and another $400,000 in cash if needed. I backed out very quick when I could see my wifes enthusiasm wane for the outdoors.
No way am I choosing canp life over her and my kids.
So now the plan is a nice cabin on the same lake, with future prospect of adding a few cabins or outposts later on.
My cousin owns a camp and caters to the rich. Our family basically built half the camp for free. Hes laughing all the way to the bank because his clients are all return customers, rich, and would rather drink and smoke cigars than fish.
Another friend owns a camp on wine lake near ear falls. Built it slowly with cash turnaround. Lives a wicked nice life on the lake but thats mainly because he didnt borrow. He used income to grow every few years and stopped around 7 cabins I believe. To boost his business he also rents out the cabins as get aways in the winter. And these are luxury cabins. Hot tubs etc. He lives a wicked life
