  1. Gets the adrenal glands pumping for sure. I saw a hammer handle take a Walleye bigger than it was and refused to let go, Pike are nuts.. My buddy was fast with the net and got them both. That was fun to see.

Hahah, ive done that once about 4 years ago.

Big fish too! Bringing in about a 30" pike and another went to war with it. Was prob 35-37", hard to tell. Sure was fun to watch!

Kids thought it was the greatest thing ever

  2. Pork shoulder in the crockpot!

3 cups of vinegar, 3 cups of ketchup, 3 cups brown sugar.

Added some worscheshire, cracked black pepper, sea salt, onion powder, two whole onions, 6 cloves of garlic, two tablespoons of minced garlic, and just a lil chilli flake

As soon as it gets to a boil ill add in some bourbon.

Then its low and slow. Be ready about 9 tonight?

  3. Gawd ive seen this so much over the years, and its AWESOME everytime!

My favorite was walleye fishing this tiny back lake, im talkin like 1000 yards x 1000 yards. Deepest part of the lake was maybe 10fow.

We had 3 walleye over the side of the tinnie firat thing in the am. And all you hear is this thrashing. Big friggen musky gets at least one right off the stringer, and actually bit through the stringer so we lost our fish.

About an hour later my dad has a walleye on and up comes another giant musky and take a 14" walleye like it was nothing!

Pike on pike battles are fun to watch too! They just go bonkers!

  4. An OFC'er shared this with me a number of years ago/

    TREAT ME KINDLY

Treat me kindly, my beloved friend,

For no heart in all the world is more

grateful for kindness than the loving

    heart of me.

Do not break my spirit with a stick,

For though I should lick your hand

    between blows, your patience and

    understanding will more quickly

teach me the things you would

    have me learn.

Speak to me often, For your voice is

the world's sweetest music, as you must

know by the fierce wagging of my tail

when your footsteps fall upon my ears.

Please take me inside when it is cold

and wet, For I am a domesticated

animal, no longer accustomed to the

bitter elements. I ask no greater glory

than the privilege of sitting at your

    feet beside the hearth.

Keep my pan filled with water, for I

cannot tell you when I suffer thirst.

Feed me clean food that I may stay well,

to romp and play and do your bidding,

to walk by your side, and stand ready,

willing and able to protect you with

my life, should your life be in danger.

And, my friend, when I am very old, and

I no longer enjoy good health, hearing

and good sight, do not make heroic

    efforts to keep me going.

I am not having fun. Please see that my

trusting life is taken gently. I shall

leave this earth knowing with the last

breath I drew, that my fate was always

    safest in your hand.

    ?

  5. Jeez I dont think ive had a grub tail ripped off more then 5 times in my life, and its usually removing them from a pikes mouth.

    Weird

I use Yum grubs and Kalins almost exlusively.

Kalins grubs are top notch and come in patterns perfect for walleye?

  6. One last question lol. I'm not familiar with jalapeno garlic. An on line search comes up with sauces for the most part. Could you clarify that for me? Tks.

    Cheers

    Lol, i never noticed that

    Just a typo.

    Use minced garlic

And use diced jalepenos, two seperate ingredients. Add habeneros too if ya like hot!

    Good eyes!???

Im making 8kgs on tuesday. Trust me its better to make lots. These things go good on almost everything(if ya like olives)

  7. Yeah, nice looking spot Rick. There's gotta be a bunch of eyes in there as well.

Its dratically better when the water is about 2ft lower, and yes, sauger above the rapids, walleye below the rapids. Tonnes of sturgeon too!

Geez, must have been way too long for me to post a report lol. Most my reports are from or near that spot.

For some reason I cant be bothered to take pics out in a boat???

  8. Yes Moose, a 30"er here is 10 pounds easy. Planner boards will outfish riggers any day here. Where does it end? Now I'm told without a temp and speed at the ball sensor you can't catch a fish? Come on. For you northern guys a 5 pound Pic here is considered a small eater.

And in NW ontario we wont eat any walleye over 17" but catch plenty of 30"ers lol

Myself I like to eat 14"ers, mmmm?

  10. Ive never had a problem with it being stored in the cool basement. Refridgerate it if you want, id hardly doubt it will make much differenece. And when I say basement im talking root cellar.

My favorite by far is number 3.

And my favorite way to eat them outside of straight up lol, is sliced in half on a homemade pizza with a nice mozza and whatever ingredients you enjoy on pizza

    And no prob!

Just remember to turn them while storing!!!
