  1. I have a shredded partridge/wildrice stew on now thats about ready?

Cool part is all I did was supervise and shred the partridge!(even though I normally just chunk it)

My daughter did 90% of the work and it looks fantastic!

She wants to practise for when grandma arrives lol, "sure sweetie, you can cook and do dishes"! Lol

I normally chunk and put the partdrige in right away, but she suggested we par boil in chicken stock.

    "Ok sweetie, its your dish"

Lets see how it turns out

  2. Yes indeed, a how-to-lace up the bacon tutorial would be welcome!!! Any time I have wrapped something in bacon it involved toothpicks. LOTS of toothpicks.

Tonight's menu is venison top round roast, my favourite of the deer roasts. But you won't be seeing any pictures, given that my good wife will be joining me for dinner and she still finds it highly unusual that people would take pictures of their meals and post it (on a FISHING website) for others to see.................. :whistling:

But please bring on the bacon basket weave instructions!

    Doug

Ya gotta pay to play Shag??

  3. Holy crap lew!

Glad your ok and were well taken care of?

I hope your feeling much better, thats pretty crazy.

I got hit today with hornets(no lie), so I find this kinda ironic.

Got ready for the evening campfire, grabbed a piece of firewood and all the sudden it felt like hot embers were dropping on me. It was half dark so I could'nt see what was going on so I kept truckin about wondering what the heck?

By the time i realized it was hornets i already had quite afew stings. Hard to tell how many lol my upper body still feels like its on fire.

    I dislike hornets

    Heal well Lew?

  4. The train derailment was at 5pm yesterday.

It was not on fire until today around 1130 ish

    Looks very fishy(nf) to me.

Local fire fighting volunteers told it was diesel and a controlled burn and all was safe.

The fire is now out as im told by residents.

No clue as to what the damage is

  5. The crash was last night and the fire started this afternoon? Seems odd.

I may be wrong, but I thought diesel was hard to ignite. It does look like heavy smoke from diesel though.

Even if CN released info, I still wouldn't trust they were telling the truth or the whole story.

Exactly where I stand on this Chris

  6. I rarely use worms myself.

One hook rig with 2-4" berkley powerbait minnows(depending on species)

You can troll them of course but I like casting.

Cast at your target, let it sink, then just retrieve(speed depends on fish activity)

I like to cut my harnesses shorter, about 14" or so(just to cast accurately)

If inm using a two hook worm harness im definitely trolling it in the outside of weed edges, drop offs or circling reefs

  7. Thanks for trying!

Darn I wish I could share the videos

One thing strikes me as very odd.

Now they are saying its a soy based diesel fuel(thats combustable not flammable)

But in my work with diesel, why can we not smell it?

Diesel has a heavy odour in my experience

Anyhow, disaster for sure. But im sure glad it doesnt contain H2S or it isnt chlorine or something like that

  8. Well apperently the highway is back open But local evac is still on.

Just to clarify I am not in the evac zone im about 15 minutes away, BUT this spill is 3 minutes away from my family in RRFN and right in my friends town in Barwick.

Obviously I am concerned because these are "oil style" cars, look at the pic. It oil/gas or a chemical.

I will be making more phone calls today after getting even more upset after this post.

We were having a fire and at about 11pm emergency equipment started coming through WITHOUT SETTING OFF the gates at the railway/road crossing in front of our house!

That could easily kill people as that crossway sees a fair bit of traffic, especially when the road closure re routed traffic down that road!
