  1. I am at a loss for words. My deepest condolences to you Paul and to your family and to Joey's family. Such a wonderful lady. Kinda my hero. Seeing her out fishing landing all these beauties, bringing in the winning fish at Fishing for Tyler. Her art work and photography a gift for us to enjoy. I always hoped she could take me fishing someday when I wasn't so busy with Tyler. God bless her and may she rest in peace. Elisa, Terry, Tyler and Tiffany
  2. Hi everyone, We wanted to take this opportunity to thank Fisherpete for generously donating two fishing trips. We also want to thank everyone who bid and congratulate the two lucky and generous winners Brian and Sheldon. Thank you also to Roy for being there for us each year helping us to keep in touch with the members of the OFC. Although we were unable to safely have Fishing for Tyler this year we know Tyler remains in your thoughts. Hopefully next year will work in our favour. Thank you, Elisa, Terry, Tyler and Tiffany
  3. Sorry to hear what happened to you Looneytoons. So glad you are ok. The BBQs are still intact and we added another. Hope everyone is seeing my post above. Roy, should it have been posted as it's own thread?
  4. Hi Everyone, Tyler is finally asleep and Roy gave me a new password so I could get on here and do some communicating with all of you wonderful people. Fishing for Tyler was great fun again this year. We had 80 people registered although not all of them were fishing. The weather wasn't in our favour again this year with the snowy morning but at least there was no wind. On Saturday, we raised $1903.10 which included the auction money from Fisherpete and a donation from Freshtrax. I wasn't expecting to receive that money. I heard that people were trying to get an auction going but I was struggling to get the tournament organized that I couldn't get online to check in. Thank you for doing that Fisherpete and I just heard from Pikeslayer who also offered up an auction item. Thank you gentlemen. I am sorry for all the confusion this year with the tournament. Our family has had a difficult year and we struggled about whether we would be able to organize it this year. We forged ahead and then had difficulty with the town about the date, insurance and parking. The town has always been supportive and continues to be. Although Terry and I have been struggling with health issues, I am proud to say Tyler is doing remarkable well. He is still doing his speech and occupational therapy and we have discovered a music therapy that has him practicing and working on his speech but through his love of music. That kid won't miss an appointment. He LOVES going. Tyler was at the tournament again this year walking around with his little sister, posing for pictures and even called some prize numbers through the megaphone. He was and continues to be awesome. Thank you to all who came out, to all the auction donors and bidders and everyone who couldn't make it thank you for thinking of us. I will send some pictures to Roy to post. My phone froze so my niece took some. Cabela's in Barrie were our new supporters this year. Our winner was Joel Roberts of Bradford. He caught a 31 3/4 inch lake trout. Our second largest fish was a 20 1/4 inch lake trout caught by Denny Spuco. Largest perch caught was 13 inches caught by Steve Vendramine. Second largest perch caught was 12 1/2 inches and was a four way tie. Jim Broome, Paul Kindy, Steve Garrison and Kaitlyn Lane. Thank you OFC, Roy, and TJ for your continued support and thank you Maureen Motiv8r for getting this ball rolling 12 years ago. Thank you also to Chevy4x4 for always coming through with tables and helping with set up and clean up. You and Shelley are dear to our family's heart. Elisa French

  7. Governator, if I can give any support to your family please don't hesitate to ask. 705-436-3607 [email protected]
  8. Hi Everyone, Got the go ahead from the Town to have the fundraiser. Yay! On Monday I will request to council to have the parking waived for the day. Have a great weekend.
  9. Yes Old Ironmaker, I am reading all messages. We can do name tags not a problem.
  10. Let's see what happens. I have a lot of people in town that support this effort. I will take Tyler to visit the Mayor in her office if I have to. I will take him to the council meeting with his little sister, who is his biggest advocate and let them say no to them in person.
  11. Hi everyone, Just a quick post to let everyone know that I am hard at work getting the fundraiser up and running. Thank you to all who are jumping on the wagon to help it is very much appreciated. I have a new hurdle this year in preparing for the tournament. I am required to fill an application to the town for PERMISSION and seek approval. I also have to provide insurance. I am also applying to have the parking waived again this year. All this and Tyler's sister and father have the flu and Tyler...well he is just Tyler. . Please know that I am doing my best and when I get confirmation I will let everyone know. Please save the date!!!
  12. So happy to read your good news Kelvin. ((hugs))
  13. Yes, the Town of Innisfil has waived the parking fee again this year.
  14. He sure does. I don't know how we could do this without T.J.!
  15. Hi Everyone, Tyler's mom here. I just got confirmation that the parking fee will be waived again this year! Yay! Elisa
  16. That's great Vince! They sound like great kids. Look forward to meeting them. Thanks again. Elisa
  17. Hi Everyone, Sorry I haven't been on to update lately, but I have been having trouble with Tyler for the past two weeks with him being suddenly afraid to go to high school. For the time being, I am keeping him home and trying to get him into a new high school. It is very difficult to find out what is bothering him but we are fearful that someone has hurt him or he has witnessed something that has tramatized him. The high school that I am trying to get him into is very excited to have him I just have to do some red tape stuff and hopefully he will be going to a new school in a couple of weeks. It is hard to plan the tournament when he is home and on the computer! I am hoping that this week I will be able to get my focus back on the tournament again. There was an article in the Innisfil Examiner on Friday, January 21 on the second page under community listings. It has a picture of last year's winner and under the picture it says, Lake Simcoe features some of the best ice fishing in the world and so it's not a surprise the Annual Fishing for Tyler fishing derby on Saturday morning is a favourite part of Innisfil's Winterfest. Then under Innisfil it says, Innisfil Wnterfest has a new date -- February 25, 26 and 27, three days of fun at the Innisfil Beach Park. Event includes the annual Fishing for Tyler fishing derby on Saturday morning, and then lists a tyke hockey tournament on Sunday and the polar bear dip. I will try to get a hold of the manager from Bass Pro as I haven't heard from him yet. Maybe while Tyler is in transition between schools, Tyler and I can go down to Bass Pro and visit him : ). Prizes are coming in and thank you so much everyone for helping.
  18. Hi Everybody! Thank you to TJ for getting me on here so I can answer some questions. Thank you to everyone for all their offers of prizes and help. The Town of Innisfil wanted us to have Tyler's fundraiser the same weekend they have Winterfest so badly they switched their weekend to ours! The next step for me is requesting to get the parking fee waived for out of town people. I will let you know how that goes. Starbucks will be supporting us again this year with coffee, hot chocolate and with many prizes. They usually provided the "big" prize. eg. last year was the fish smoker, two years ago was the fish finder. Posca Foods has offered us hamburgers and hotdogs (personal childhood friend of mine). I haven't even sent out letters requesting help yet! I will be doing that today. I have Tyler home today so we will be wrestling for the computer. : ) I got a phone call last night from the gentleman who caught the biggest fish last year. He works at Bass Pro. He told me that his boss, Shaun Hewitt, wants me to call him and come in and see him ASAP. Apparently, Shaun has an autistic son as well. We are hoping to have some silent auction items again this year. Thanks everyone for your help. If you have any other questions please ask. You can also email me at [email protected]. Have a great day.
