Very nice!! Puts the lone bass I got on Dog Lake yesterday to shame. Where is this lake?? I am thinking road trip

I have a bunch of lures that look good but produce squat.. And I also was suckered into buyin a bag of those Storm WildEye Swim Shad which I thought were gonna be great and got nothing with them. On the other hand, my fave lure from last summer was this dancin eel.. I have had good luck with pike and bass on that.

Thanks for the comment... You are right about the crappie, we had a few of those today. Also some perch, not a big pile of fish today but at least we didn't get skunked. We got enough for a snack for me later. There were some guys in a hut just a little ways from ours who were pulling lots of pike out, they had 5 on the ice that I could see. I was talking with them and I guess they had some bass as well but threw them back. If anyone is wondering the ice was about 10 inches, there were lots of trucks out on the ice. Not for me, but I guess its thick enough. On another note, are crappie hard to clean? this will be my first attempt at it

I am gonna hit Dog Lake this afternoon, just wondering if anyone knows the lake? Hows the ice with this warmer weather we have had? Catch much while you were there? Any info would be appreciated cheers!

Anybody been out to Loughborough Lake recently? I have been out to the BOQ the last two weekends (with no luck) and might try somewhere else this weekend. Was thinking of seeing how the ice is near the division st. boat launch, just wondering if anyone has been out on the ice there recently? I have only fished this lake in the summer, and it was years ago. I hear the ice there can be safe in one spot and soft in the next. So if you were out there how was the ice, and how was the bite? Not sure what to do this weekend, its either back to the Bay of Quinte to find a good spot or maybe Loughborough Lake.. Hmmm

Anybody been out there yet? I was out last weekend and again today, and no fish for me.. We must have drilled 15 or more holes today trying to find the fish. I have tried Big Bay and a second place I think was called Potters Creek or something like that.. Just wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of the fish? Not asking for you secret spots or anything, just a general idea of which areas you might suggest. I am on foot so cant be too far to walk from shore. Any input would be appreciated, I would be happy to bag some walleye, but would be just fine with some perch. I just wanna fry some fish! Dammit!!

Damn fine catch! I was out on the bay on Jan 2nd and got nothing. You obviously know what your doin.. Any tips for a novice ice fisherman hitting the ice on the BOQ ?

I think both are fun, they each have benifits. I obviously gotta love nice summer days fishing, and BASS.. but there is something about getting out there on the ice too. I don't have a sweet boat so being out on the ice allows me access to water I can't always get to.

never heard of people getting carp in the winter, nice man! I would like to get a big carp sometime, but I hear they are not a great fight.. just dead weight like a log or tire or something, that true?

Was out on the Bay this morning... in case anyone else is wondering there was lots of ice, about 6 inches thick. We had no luck though, only a couple perch. I am new to fishing the BOQ and somewhat of a novice ice fisherman, so maybe I was just in the wrong place or didn't know what I was doing lol.. I know there are big ones in there, might go back again next weekend. Hopefully better luck for me then.

I was just going to ask the same question about the ice condition on the bay of quinte... Anyone know where I can find a good detailed map of the lake so I can stay clear of unsafe areas? I am coming from Kingston, any suggestions where I should go? I am just a bit worried about the ice
