  3. this was my first bass opener with a boat so decided to try pigeon lake. i launched the boat about 6:30 at malard bay not the best launch but does the trick. right off the bat the fish were biting i was out alone so i didnt get to many pics and the ones i did get are on my phone and i don't know how to get them off the phone. i stayed out till around 9:30 or 10:00 then hunger and the rain drove me to head home.

later in the afternoon me and a buddy headed out hit the water around 6 and dammm they were still biting, well for me anyway not so much for the guy in the back of the boat he was skunked for the whole evening the best i caught was 4.5 to 5 pound on a popper i need a good scale and i love top water fishing. I only took up fishing last year so all in all it was likly the best day fishing ever for me ended up with about 18 bass and a couple of perch all were released with a simile on face face anyway

  4. My wife and i were talking this morning about how many people we can have in are boat (17.5 crestliner fishhawk) the tag says up to 6 people or x number of pounds. however there are only 3 pedestal seats. i have read somewhere that you must have a seat for everperson in the boat would the rear casting deck count as a seat in my opinon it wouldn't be any differant then a seat in a tin boat. we are planing to do a bit of tubing and want to take my daughters friend with us do i need to install another seat.

  5. thanks for the info. I had a chance to do a little more trouble shooting this morning. I put a switch form the + on the solenoid to the small terminal (from the key i think) when i hit the button started works fine so i think the solenoid is ok. I pulle d the key switch out and have found that the safty kill switch seemed a little stiff to pop out when the clip pops off sprayed a bit of wd40 in it and worked it for a few min. now it doesnt seem to work at all so i think that it may be the proplem.

  6. the motor 1999 johnson 70 hp

the proplem: shortly after i bought this boat this proplem started when i would roll the motor over it would sometimes just stop cranking so i had the starter rebuilt thinking maybe there was a flat spot on the starter that didn't fix it. next i tryed a used silinod and the proplem has become worse when i first changed it the motor started fine so i thought i had it. today in the middle of rice lake i can't get the motor to go the pinon gear pops up but doesn't seem to have the power to turn the motor over. if i cross the soilnoid it all works fine. I have cleaned all conections to do with the starter. Can't think of what else it can be any ideas

  7. Not really, but they are hard to catch....at least for me. I finally got the walleye bug last year after always only fishing for bass. I tried Balsam and Rice with no luck. This past week, I went to the French River for a 3 day trip (first trip of the year) determined to catch some walleye....again no luck. I am not starting off well. The weather was brutal for fishing....30 degrees, no wind and full sun....but still...COME ON!

I got up at 5am, I jigged in the narrows with jig and minnow, I trolled minnow baits, I fished off the dock at night with just a minnow and split shot. I tried to find some weeds, but for some reason, the weed beds are still non-existent, or VERY sparse. It did make me feel better to hear everyone say that the fishing was tough though.

I did catch some nice pike and OOS smallmouth....one absolute brute which was nice.

Heading back up to the French River in 3 weeks to try round 2...wish me luck.

i feel your pain i have been trying out walleye fishing this year and its not going well at all haven't been able to find even one
