How can leaving the cover on damage the screen?
The inner guide that keeps it in place rubs on the screen so when your travelling either on the trailer or on the water the vibration can damage it .
-
Great report Paul good to see ya catching them !

I have to say xraps have become my Favorite lure they catch fish but they seem to fall apart with out much effort like the eyes or the paint always come off mine in as little as a week.
Anyone else have this problem.
I have had some that fall right apart fast but I also have some that last forever I have been using the same clown color one for 4 seasons now and landed tonnes of smallies and pike on it mabey the ones that are made on fridays fall apart and the rest are good.

The plastic Yum frogs with the wobbly feet also work great and won't cost you an arm and a leg Might wanna try them out.
I use a venom soft plastic frog most of the time cost's me $23 for a bag of 50 and they are awesome I have used the yum frogs before I like them and they are tough but I can never find the good colors around here.

just grab it on both sides and pull it off also don't leave it on unless the boats in the drive way it can damage the screen apparently they are on there pretty tight and take a bit of force to get off you wont break it .

A pike will make short work of that SPro frog or any soft plastic bait for that matter.
My fav topwater bait for pike are Zara Spooks.. Zara Spook Jr's to be exact.
Best day of pike fishing I had with a spro it lasted for 6-7 fish per frog, all around 5-6lbs before it was totally pooched. which can make for a expensive day but they are fun on topwater I would think big gators would do a lot more damage but the smaller ones aren't to bad and they launch right out of the water with the frog in their mouth really fun fishing I think I haven't tried topwater for pike yet this year cause I always wait till Bass is open to prevent the OOS bass hook up's but real soon I will be after the gators on top right after I beat on some fat smallies for a bit then the buckets and gators are in trouble

When I first started fishing hollow plastic frogs I went down to the swamp and watched how the frogs move around and its never the same I will say though when they are on the move they don't mess around they want to get from point A to point B in a hurry but they will pause in a safe spot like a log, lilly pad or a boulder for a rest. I tend to work them fairly eradic fast, slow, pause and go what ever seems to be triggering strikes that day. Also don't be to steady with a buzzbait either pop it and speed up and slow down with it it drives them nuts when ya give it a good rip and really Buzz it usually when something hits the water like a large bug or a small bird like the buzzbait is imitating they are in a panic to get out of the water that's why topwater is so much fun cause there's so many ways to do it and they are all effective and pike will destroy spro frogs litterally pain in the butt when your after bass have fun with them they work great.

Went to Bass Pro and they didn't have Strike King "Bottom Dweller" spinnerbaits of course.
One of the employees asked what i was looking for tried to tell me they don't exist.

Its been 3.5 years for me and it was champix that got me through it after a week or so you will notice how bad you smell when you smoke that was the biggest incentive for me can't believe how bad it makes people smell (sorry smokers but you stink LOL) good luck and stick with it.

I have a 90hp 2 stroke with about 10-20ish hours on it and the last 2 times out it has chugged a bit when I first hit it on the way out of the channel after that it runs fine no hesitation at all the channel is very long it's prolly a 1-1.5k ride at under 10mph. I follow the speed limits and no wake zones all the way out. is it fouling the plugs a bit running that slow? or could there be something else wrong? it sounds fine and I'm getting the right RPM range at WOT and it runs at the same speeds as it always has .I run sta-bil ethanol treatment in every tank and fresh water rinse every other time out I really want this motor to last so I want to get it in if it sounds like a problem so, what do you motor guys think? this is my first larger 2 stroke motor so I don't know if this is the norm Thanks in advance for any help.

i find if you freeze fish then unthaw to fillet the meat is much more soft/mushy which made it harder to fillet. i never tried freezing it in water though as joey suggested.
Thats why I use ice not a freezer they don't freeze solid just stay really cold.
A huge HUGE THANK YOU to Spiel and John Payne
