  1. My uncles been having a very difficult time on G-Bay with walleye. He is a scuba diver so when he does his dives he always sees them, and there right infront of his channel. He's had that cottage for many many year and can't get them on a hook. Only seen one actually hooked by his cottage and it wasnt his haha.

They can be tough to figure out. I've been skunked many times on G-bay.

    Nice report Nick.

    :thumbsup_anim:

    Thanks Brian!

And thanks to all you other folks that checked out my report!

  2. I finished off the deer hunting season unsuccessfully with my final hunt on Newyears Eve. Newyears day - On to a new season! HARDWATER!!

Made plans with fellow board member Livinisfishin and headed out for some Crappie new years day. Iced a few perch, moved around a lot. No Crappie. Nice day though!

Figuring out the new electronics :clapping:

Saturday morning I found some early G-bay ice. Was hoping for pike or walleye. Skunked on my morning spot. Head to the evening spot to check the ice there. It was sketchy getting on the ice, but once on, 4" of solid clear ice. This picture was 1 shot with the spud. The while cracking is the bottom of the ice.

I tiptoed around, spudding holes all over place looking for the depth I had stuck in my head.

Started to get close to the depth, and right away was lifting perch. Moved a few more times till I got right on it.. Then Wham! First drag scream of the year! And with the ice so clear, I had a great view of the fight! 22" Smack on the top of the slot..

So that was a great moment. :thumbsup_anim: Followed by a BAD moment when I walked back to my gear and perch rod about 75 yards away only to find that my rod, reel, and rod holder where snatched by a big fish, and ripped down the hole.... :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:

Sunday I met up with Livinisfishin again. We're really craving the crappie now. A crappie skunk to start the season. It was time for redemption! Went a little further north this time. The ice was very sketchy.

The hole claimed another victim! When my fishing partner went to drop in his transducer, and his cell phone fell from his pocket smack in the center of the hole.. Down she went!

Took a lot of moving around to get them. 30' of water. Minnows. Ended the day with 4 around 10" and another 8 in the 6-8" range. I'm eating them as I type!!

  3. We've got grouse around here? LOL!

There is a flock that I flush almost every time I walk thru the bush behind my house. The last time there was 7 in the flock. I have no intention of hunting the flock for a few years. I want to try to grow a healthy population first. Then take the odd one out with a bow when i feel like eating some bush chickens.

  4. Crazy clip!!!!! whats that dude thinking

    count me in!

Had two of them interested in my GSP while bird hunting a property in Springwater a month ago.

Going out in the AM with some 3.5 inch 00 dead coyote !!

    Take em when you can!

    R

Let me know next time your bird hunting in Springwater! Get together with the boom sticks, and blast some birds!

As far as the clip.... Dude is kinda crazy.

Beautiful animal yes, but encouraging it to nip and your hand or chew on your boot is asking for trouble.

Curious animals will always come back. If I was him would have gotten the boot upside the head

I couldn't agree more. If that where me, the Coyote would have gotten a mouth full of winter boot. I'm sure he was just looking for food. And for all we know, this could be a daily event for the guy? Regardless, he was egging the Coyote on. Trying to interact with it. Not smart IMO.

  5. Let me know where and I'll go take care of it, lol.

    X2!

And by the sounds of it Familyfisherman too. And a few others on here.

We should start a Coyote hunting pose.

Drive around in pick up trucks with gun racks! :canadian:

Not sure if this has been posted on the thread yet. There was to many links for me to look at tonight. This is crazy Coyote.

  6. here is my list. Not all big game. But still go the blood pumping all the same!!

I was bluff charged by a pissed of fisher last fall. He was angry! Did it twice, but aborted mission when we got about 5 yards away both times.

Been stocked by a black bear while turkey hunting a few years ago. He ran off when I removed my camo vale and hat and started yelling at him/her.

Had a mother ruffled grouse dive bomb me several time one year walking in to the cottage. I swear it was a kamakaze bird trying to take my head off with no regards for it's own life! Tried like 5 times!

Stepped about 2 feet away from a rattle snake a while back. Heard him at the last minute, and jumped out of the way. I was wearing shorts and flip flops. Might have turned out bad.
