  1. Hi All,

I have competed in Thai Boxing for 12 years yet have never or will never get into a street fight.

    That’s the right idea.

I've been teaching martial arts for 10 years now. I've never been in a street fight. In 99.99% of the time you can talk and walk.. No need to punish someone.

As far as fighting dirty. Give er.. If someone if attacking you with intent to cause harm, there’s no such thing as dirty. You’re just protecting your self.

  2. I've been searching for a new pair for a few weeks now. I have been running the old wooden ones for about 20 years now.

The ones I've been looking at the MSR Denali.. All the reviews look good except for the guys that use them for hardcore hiking, and they seem to wear out a little. They have a modular attachment system to add floatation to the shoe.. I'm not sure about the warranty on them..

Anyone have any experience with these??

  3. I have one of the Ugly Stick combos. I reeled in a 24" 10Lb whitie last weekend with it. It was the only rod I had with ice braid, so I used it. I don't normally use it for big fish.

It's a tough rod. Not to sure about the reel though. I've only cought a few big fish with it, but I think it's only a mater of time before it explodes..

  4. I was in the Rack and Reel yesterday. They had a large, and XL and a XXL to try on. The model they carry is the Pro-Lite series (cheapest model).

They are on sale until the end of the week. $350, down from $400. They can order anything Salus.. They have the endurance class model on sale for $450. I bought the Endurance (not from Rack and Reel). The price is great considering you can order it from Cabalas for $430, plus shipping. My Endurance will be here tomorrow. I can't wait!!

  5. From 1976 to 78 I had Pickle Lake and Red Lake as my SOUTHERNLY points of call . They were the towns that I could get out to and get some laundry done and have a shower. If I was lucky I could get to one of them at least once every 6 weeks. Sounds lovely doesn't it??

Any how, I used to cover ALL the reserves and indian settlements from the Manitoba border to Hudsons Bay to James Bay and like I said previously south to Pickle and Red Lake.

I managed to do a fair bit of fishing over the course of the 2 years up there and in some cases it blew your mind away, in other cases, the fishing I have now on Gullrock is far superior to some lakes up there.

My family lived there for 10 years or so during that time. My old man was the liquor store manager :worthy: He was also a paramedic, fireman, and avid fisherman. I was too young to fish, but the old man would never come home empty handed. I'd like to go on a fishing/hunting trip there sometime, but i hear it's a little rough there now..

  6. I broke my wrist a few years back while snowboarding. It was a compound fracture, and both bones where completely broken, really close to my wrist. I also managed to crush my Median nerve. I couldn’t feel my fingers for weeks, and when then odd bit of feeling came back, it was excruciating. Nerve damage can cause some intense sensations.

If you’re concerned, then go see a doctor. I saw my orthopedic surgeon every two weeks when I was in my cast. So there was never a period of time for me to get worried, as I was always being looked at by doctors. There is a very slight chance they screwed up, by not likely.

  7. I've got a 535 and my fishing/hunting partner has a 343c.

They are both solid units. The 535 is not color, but it has a very vast gray scale. I have no complaints about the unit. Nice large screen There are some nice features that the 343c has over the 535, but for the price difference, it's negligible.

One other occasional fishing buddy has the x67 ice machine. Maybe I didn’t have it set up right, but I was not pleased with the clarity of the graphics (IMO).
