I thought you where a sailor..

  2. Currently pressure treated lumber is an acceptable material for dock and crib construction. Also, there are no regulations or requirements for floating docks. Where is your cottage? It may fall under the control of a Conservation Authority which may have regulations different then the Ontario MNR.

6-Mile Lake. It may have something to do with the cottagers association up there. They're a little wound up sometimes, specially when it comes to docks and waterfront topics.

  3. I was just noticing the same thing last weekend. My perch patern still looks brand new, but my other one, which has been used half as much, it all chipped up around the hooks. Likely from bounching around going from spot to spot..

  4. Made a stop at BPS on Thursday. I picked up a few new top water lures. A buzz bait, and a Spro frog. The buzz bait is pretty self explanatory. Cast it out, and a steady retrieve.

I'm not to sure the best way to work the Spro frog though? Should I be poping it, with a long pause. Or a bunch of little popes, like walking the dog. Or just a slow steady retrieve.

I guess it all depends of what I'm fishing for, and where I'm fishing.

I was just curious to know how you guys work a Spro Frog.

    Any input would be great.

Do they work for top water pike?, or just bass?

This is the one I bought.

Edit: After posting this, I watched a couple u-tube vids, and it seems everyone works it a little different..

  5. Really?! It's funny they would ticket there considering it looks like there is a dead end road there specifically for people to access the lake. Looks like a pretty far hike!

I might be thinking about a different place up that way. There's an access road that leads to a radio tower, and there has to be clear access for any emergency vehicles. One long weekend, the OPP ticketed all the cars parked along the road.

It might have been a road accessing part of the Mcdonald, or Gibson river now that I think of it.

Either way, something to watch out for..

  6. Great report NAW, enjoyed reading that....LOL...i hope my wife never decides to sneak off in my boat!!!!

I was a little worried the first time she did it a few years back. I hadn't given her a proper lesson in operating the boat yet.

It happens all the time now. She still doesn't have her operators card though, so she doesn't go far from the camp, and usually only runs the electric motor.
