Is there any way to touch up the on these?
I would think that matching the colour would be tough.

Currently pressure treated lumber is an acceptable material for dock and crib construction. Also, there are no regulations or requirements for floating docks. Where is your cottage? It may fall under the control of a Conservation Authority which may have regulations different then the Ontario MNR.
6-Mile Lake. It may have something to do with the cottagers association up there. They're a little wound up sometimes, specially when it comes to docks and waterfront topics.

I didn't think you where allowed to use pressure treated wood for buildind docks? Not at my cottage anyways.

I was just noticing the same thing last weekend. My perch patern still looks brand new, but my other one, which has been used half as much, it all chipped up around the hooks. Likely from bounching around going from spot to spot..

Thanks for the great input guys!
That's a good idea about waiting untill bass season opens up before tossing the frog.
I'll have to grab one of those Zara Spooks. I've herd other people talking highly about them too.

Made a stop at BPS on Thursday. I picked up a few new top water lures. A buzz bait, and a Spro frog. The buzz bait is pretty self explanatory. Cast it out, and a steady retrieve.
I'm not to sure the best way to work the Spro frog though? Should I be poping it, with a long pause. Or a bunch of little popes, like walking the dog. Or just a slow steady retrieve.
I guess it all depends of what I'm fishing for, and where I'm fishing.
I was just curious to know how you guys work a Spro Frog.
Any input would be great.
Do they work for top water pike?, or just bass?
This is the one I bought.

Edit: After posting this, I watched a couple u-tube vids, and it seems everyone works it a little different..

How'd Luongo ever get outta there alive........he must have a Heliport on top of the arena
He's probly still there. Curled up in a corner shaking..

Mine is mounted on a peace of thin aluminum. I use it on my 14' boat too.
Held on with a c-clamp.

Really?! It's funny they would ticket there considering it looks like there is a dead end road there specifically for people to access the lake. Looks like a pretty far hike!
I might be thinking about a different place up that way. There's an access road that leads to a radio tower, and there has to be clear access for any emergency vehicles. One long weekend, the OPP ticketed all the cars parked along the road.
It might have been a road accessing part of the Mcdonald, or Gibson river now that I think of it.
Either way, something to watch out for..
-
I know guys that go McRae lake a few times a year. They don't fish, so I'm not sure about the fishing. They hike in from the access road. I've heard that they started ticketing cars there though. So watch where you park.

Thanks Jimmer.
I'm going to try that for sure.

These guys should be put into jail. Your buddy did an excellent job! I am curious where are these fools from?
Good on him for doing that. I don't know to many cops that would have done that. Around here anyways.

Good luck today! Those are some decent perch.

Would you care to share that recipe. Looks delicious!

Yeah, my wife uses a baitcaster.
That's funny man.. I won't let my wife touch my bait caster.
Nice looking rod. Unique.

Sweat ride man.!

I got mine at an OFC G2G this past winter in Nip. I won a little derby we had, and got first dibs at the "price box"!
-
That's good stuff Simon. Some great pics of the boys too. Looks like they had a fun time.
You make a lot of people feel envious on this board, including myself!
-
Screw the bumper stickers. I have a nice 42" long OFC measuring sticker on the inside of my boat. Used it about 7 times this weekend. Thanks TJ!! Those things are the cats pajamas
-
Is that an invite for the fall hunts? LOL
Im game.
100%.
I go almost every weekend. I love duck hunting.
You and I should convince Sinker to show us a few spots! Have a little OFC ducking hunting G2G!
-
I knew I seen that boat before.
That's the Swamp Donkey.. My duck hunting boat. Looks even more sexy with the duck blind mounted on her.

Great report NAW, enjoyed reading that....LOL...i hope my wife never decides to sneak off in my boat!!!!
I was a little worried the first time she did it a few years back. I hadn't given her a proper lesson in operating the boat yet.
It happens all the time now. She still doesn't have her operators card though, so she doesn't go far from the camp, and usually only runs the electric motor.

That looks like a perfect place to spend a weekend.
Thanks for sharing! Some tasty looking shore lunch there
