  1. I just replaced mine last week. It was a nautilus too. It lasted over 4 years.

I picked one up from total battery for $110, when same the one at crappytire was $140.

Only used it once, so I really can't tell you if it's good or not.

Edit: to add a bit to Terry's post. It's also good to make sure your battery is mounted properly in your boat. If the battery is bouncing around, and banging off of things in your boat, it will reduce the lift as well.

  2. We have an old 85 Evenrude. The choke / Primer is build into the key switch. You push on the key to prime it.

If that's the same as yours, then replacing the ignition may be pricy.

I would be looking into a lock smith if that where the case.

  3. Easy to get rid of them, and without risk of a fine.

First, go to Rona or Home Depot and buy some animal-proof screening (sort of like heavy duty chicken wire). You'll need enough of it to go all the way around the deck. You will also need a one-way wire animal door.

Dig a trench all around the perimiter of the deck, at least 8 inches deep and about 8 inches wide.

The screening comes in either a roll, or in long rectangular sheets, and is usually about two feet high. Bend it length-wise at a right angle, so it's now about 18 inches high and it has a lip that sticks out by around 6 inches. Position this screening along the facing of the deck, in the trench you've dug, so the lip faces out from the deck, and screw it tightly into the edge of the deck all the way around. Also screw it to the brick, where the deck attaches to the house. Then bury the base of the screen and stomp the earth down so it's well compacted.

That one-way door gets installed right where the beasts have dug their hole. Install it backwards, so they can get out, but they can't get back in. The lip that you buried prevents them from digging under the wire.

Raccoons and skunks usually have a couple of back-up dens elsewhere in the neighborhood. If it's too much effort for them to get back under your deck, they will go elsewhere. And, you'll never have to worry about them ever coming back.

You saved me having to type all of that. Thanks.

I worked for a live animal extraction/pesticide company part time for a few years. We would sell this options as a method of varmint proofing a deck, or pool. Lifetime warranty.

The only difference, we would dig at least a 18" deep, and 18" wide.

  4. Seems to be a common problem with newer vehicles that come with plastic bumpers and fairings etc underneath the car. I saw a newer VW Golf drive by me the other day with a canoe strapped to it and they had the front tie downs going under the hood and the read tie downs going under the rear hatch...perhaps you could try that.

That's what I do with my golf. That an area just along the seem of the hood when it closes that you can tie a rope to. I actually leave my on all the time. When their not being used, they just hand down on the inside. The rear I attached to my trailor hitch, but before the hitch i just jimmy rigged it to some structure under the back.

  5. I have trees in the yard that over hang on to my neighbours yard. Every year I do a quick trimming. I always trim the entire tree, including the areas overhanging my neighbours property.

I can trim most of the trees by standing on my properties, but the branches fall on the neighbours yard. I just hop the fence, and clean up the mess. They don't seem to mind.

  6. I have to admit, I nearly shed a tear watching this on the news this afternoon. They played the audio of some of his last words. Unbelievable how calm he sounded considering he had a vehicle on top of him.

It's my aspiration to become a police officer one day, and know many of them to be close friends.

    News like this is horrible.

  7. Looks familiar......... Good job on the pickeral. They'll be scattering to deeper water soon, I figure I have another week or two up in HH before it becomes real work trying to find them.

Last weekend will be the last time I go that that spot this season, for pickerel anyways.

I have a few new spots I'm excited to try in the next few weeks.

  8. Got a question for ya Brian.

If the WMA you're applying for has an "A", "b", c..... does your antlerless tag let you hunt in all of them.

Cuz the one I applied to goes up to "e", and they never asked my which one I wanted. :dunno:
