  1. Thanks for the accomodations Blair!

Last summer, Livinisfishin expressed some interest in spending the night in the hut this year. So I gave him first dibs at it. He's in! If something happans, and one of us can't make it, then Lota Lota's runner up.

Look forward to seeing everyone again. I call the hole next to Randy :canadian:

  2. That would be great! If it's not an option I can always bring my mighty tent. I've slept overnight in a tent ice-fishing before so it shouldn't be an issue.

I already called shot gun on one of the bunks!!

If I don't have SAR training, I'll be there with bells on (literally).

Hey Fisherman.. If your drivin by Orr lake, maybe you wanna car-pool?

  3. I asked the same question here a few years back and got some very good replies.

I've used it to coat my lures (Williams jigging spoons). But if you don't remove it after, it turns yellow/brown. The lures don't sparkle like they should. You have to clean the oil off after you use it.

As for attracting fish. The oil doesn't mix with the waters, or leave a scent trail.

  4. A buddy of mine was floating about 15' off the end of his dock in a paddle boat. He had a fishing rod, and a pint.

OPP roll up, and charge him for having the drink on the boat. Told him he got off luck, because he didn't have his fishing licence on hand, and a PFD was not on board.

  5. Awesome day of Crappie fishing.

    How long was the drive?

I want to find some spring Crappie this week, maybe tomorrow. I have a lake in mind about 1 hour north of Barrie, but I don't know if the back bay I'm thinking about trying will be ready.

  6. Merry X-mas Gerrit.

I had someone close to my family pass away yesterday at 3pm.. It's a tough time of year for this to happen. Every year, the family would gather at his house on Boxing day for the family Christmas party / dinner. This year, his wake is on Boxing day.

I couldn't agree more with what you said in your post. Very well written.

A guy I work with brags about spending $2000 every year on presents for his kids.. What the point :wallbash:

  7. I just moved back to the country my self.

Set up with a Bell Tubro Hub. It's fairly fast. Sometimes you tube videos are a little sketchy. All in all, I'm happy.

But..... My sister is 4km down the road, with the same turbo hub service, and their internet is DEAD slow. It can be hit or miss in the country.

    It's about $50 a month in a bundle.

  8. Out of all Use sled heads here. Who has never rode a Bravo. :canadian:

I was thinking the same thing. Honestly, There's not to many outdoorsman over 30, who have never riden a Bravo.

They're a quiet sled too. Atleast mine is. They have a very unique sound. A weak sound, but still unique :)

  9. Well, it was only a matter of time before this happened.

Yamaha is going to stop making the Bravo.

I had one given to me 5 years ago. I didn't realize what I had been given untill people started complimenting me in my rig. A little research, and I realized that I had been given Yamaha's best selling snowmobile in the history of the company. 1981, to 2012. 30 years.. That's a good run. And with little to no changes in the past 25 years.

Mine's an 89. Maybe it will be worth more now that it's discontinued.

If you've got any Bravo pics, post them up. I'd love to see them!

  10. Want to make the burning barrel last longer , try to keep some sort of a lid on it , to keep the weather out when its not in use ................... Happy burning .

    Thanks Ron, that's a great idea :thumbsup_anim:

Would also be good for snuffing the fire out if need be.

Also a note for other Springwater dwellers.. The new fire permits for 2012 are available now..
