Just got back from a week of fishing the south part of Temagami. Stayed at Tamar. Weather was awful and the bite was tough. Our best day was our first day when we caught 30 smallies. We made one trip into Cross Lake and trolled up a pike which my son was very proud of and one walleye. I wish we could have fished cross more but it was a long way and we did bust a prop up coming out of there. Luckily we had an extra one. Besides 3 walleyes and 1 pike all of our fish were smallies. So we are coming up to the Temagami area this weekend and staying for a week. Weather not looking oso hot for Monday and Tuesday with lows around 5 and highs around 13. I assume this might effect the bite some. Any species of fish that we should concentrate during the cooler days?

As a US citizen can I cosign a Canadian mortgage?
10point replied to 10point's topic in General Discussion
I am off the hook. My wife told him we wouldn't do it. He was actually trying to buy 2 places and fix one up and sell it and return some money to us. -
My brother in law has a plan for getting a house and has asked us to consider cosigning. I am hoping as an American citizen it is not even an option for me to cosign on a Canadian loan. Does anyone know?

I wish I could bring some water with me. We had 3 inches of rain last night and expect another inch in the next 24 hours. It rains like everyday here now and lost of roads are closed due to flooding. At least we haven't had to water the flowers this year.

We arrive on the 27th. Staying at Tamar.

It appears you can take about 10 lbs of beef in but what do you all think about taking jerky? I have a bunch of geese (yes they are canadian) in the freezer I need to get made into jerky.
-
Thanks, that will help! I sent you a question that might have got lost in your inbox but does Temagami have any pan fish in it? Perch, bluegill, crappie?

Will Dad's be open on a Sunday morning when we arrive? I am trying to get a couple more maps and I was hoping to stop there and get some. I sent a check to adventure maps two weeks ago and they haven't gotten it yet. We are staying the night at my inlaws in London on the way and will probably buy our liscense there just in case we wouldn't be able to bet them.

I have been trying to reasearch this and I can't really seem to find the info I need. The government sites seem really confusing. I plan to hit the grovery on our way but was wondering what I can bring from the US. My Dad is wanting to bring some canned vegetable soup. I plan on bringing stuff for cooking fish like shore lunch mix, tarter sauce, cooking oil, etc.

Just wondering. Heading up in a couple of weeks. Looks like it has rained a little.

What to look for when buying a used 9.9(or less) motor
10point replied to splashhopper's topic in General Discussion
I have a 1974 9.9 Evinrude so I refer to the link below a lot. Reading this might help, lots of good info no matter what type of motor it is. http://www.sschapterpsa.com/ramblings/Johnson%209.9_15.htm -
Nice fish. Heading up in 3 weeks. Can you share what baits you were using?

Thanks Irishfield, just relaxing today. Spent two days with the wife in Chicago and yesterday at the Indy 500.

Hey Buddy, congrats! Looks like a fun time.

I need my Dad's boat in the water not their boats!
-
I sure wish you guys would get some rain up there. I am taking my first fishing trip at the end of June to Temagami and I hope it isn't ruined by these water levels. It will not stop raining down here in Indiana.
-
I believe it was black, I still have them out in the boat so I can look at them and make sure. I guess it would help if I did a video of it and posted it here? I can probably do that in the next few days.

I meant to say it is NOT like it is going to stall. What does flat top mean? I have changed the plugs.
-
I would say it is like it is going to stall. Just a loud pop, smoke, and keeps on running.
-
My motor was running slow so I messed with the fuel pump and got it running at normal speed. Now my problem is that is making popping noises periodically while it is running. When it does this it shakes and a puff of smoke comes out of the prop. Any ideas? By the way this is a 1974 Evinrude 9.9

How to reassemble fuel pump 74 evinrude 9.9
10point replied to 10point's topic in General Discussion
No, mine doesn't have that many parts. Not springs like that one has. -
I have an issue with my motor that I will get to after I get this fixed. I took apart my fuel pump assembly as pictured below. I am pretty sure it goes back together from left to right in the picture below. What I don't know is where the little plastic like button looking things goes. I think it maybe goes between the 2 and 3rd part from the left in the middle of the two parts. Please help if you can.
