  1. Be warned tho, that 30 lb stuff is scary strong. My Pa hooked a little cleo very well into a sunken log just out of reach of paddle last week. After all attempts to dislodge the hook failed, he wrapped four or five turns around the fish bonker and leaned into it. He guessed that the line parted at about 50 lbs of pull, but not at the palomar knot. The line failed where it was wrapped around the bonker.

  2. Brando, Welcome, and Congrats on post #1. Hope the whole posting hurdle wasn't too tuff fer ya.

Allus enjoy critical posts from newbies to the board. We hope you enjoy your stay, however brief it may be (no laws broken, myob, etc.)

All the best elsewhere. C yA.

Just think, you coulda been a contender. Ask Stella.

  3. Hmmmm.

Some are fussy around here, and require a fancy intro complete with data, location, stats, gender, target species, gps coords, and pictures.

    Others just like the photos.

Your first post was not really spam, since it was only the once. Commercial? Maybe, but no real indication. Very nice wallies, regardless. Good shootin' and props to the Captain.

We are all looking forward to your next post.

  4. You see the pope too? That's great, I thought I was nuts. That's a huge relief right there.

On the other hand, I'm a very, very lucky guy and fortunate too. This is all because my wife pretty much sorta sees the pope in the photo also.

    You gotta count your blessings.

  5. All right, now where is the Grandpa who wondered how to entertain his daughter's 12 year old boy? That would do 'er fer sure.

Not that there is anything wrong with that. No boob jokes, I noticed,

  6. Me 2, four more sleeps.

You will either be dragging a spoon or stickbait behind your canoe, using an inline weight or three way dropper to target the 5 - 15 ft depths. Use a long line behind you, 30 or 40 meters at least.

A sonar unit would let you find deeper fish, which you can fool with a jig and grub.

Good Luck to you on your trip.

  7. Welcome to Rob, it sounds like you will be a welcome addition around here. The photographers who can also write like Moosebunk, Mr. Hoffman, JP Bushey, and others really help to make this a special place. I'm looking forward to counting you among them.

There's a FAQ link around here somewhere to help you with the settlin' in.
