  1. Thanks for the pointer guys...really looking forward to getting out. Thanks again.
  2. I've been fishing Upper Buckhorn for years, but until now fall fishing hasn't been an option...but this year is different. Just looking for some general pointers on how to best approach bass fishing in the late fall. I assume by this time they will have moved out of the shallows...but what do I know. Any guidance would be appreciated.
  3. For fish cleaning directions nothing geeks Youtube. Lots of great how to videos. Also not a bad source for general fishing videos.
  4. I've had a Rebel XL for 3 years and for an entry level fishing boat I've been extremely impressed. Feels solid and stable, but its size lets you get into areas that you may not be able to access in a bigger boat. As mentioned the finishing isn't bad, so it works as a family hauler too. Gerat bang for your buck.
  5. I should start this thread by saying that I am a very loyal Shimano customer. The majority of my tackle is Shimano and have always found them to have great quality through the whole spectrum on their product line...from my first baitcaster to my beloved Curados. In the spring I purchased a couple of Bob Izumi signature series rods...not top of the Shimano line, but had tried one last year and really liked the rod. I've used one rod for the last 4 or 5 weeks and have barely touched the second (walleye rod). Anyway, I noticed that the ceramic was falling off the guides! Some have no ceramic left, others are missing sections. I called Shimano today (I can't find the receipt) and explained the situation...they did not disappoint. Sounds like they received a bad batch of guides and told me to just bring the rods in and they would replace on the spot...no questions asked. Nothing in this world is guaranteed and no matter how good your quality control...issues will arise. Great companies turn a potentially bad experience and transform it into a great one. I've forgotten about the issue with the guides...all I can remember is the awesome experience I just had with customer service. Shimano customer for life !
  6. Anyone have any success finding this in Canada...looks like the usual suspects (BPS, Lebaron, Cabelas) are not carrying it. Thanks
  7. I was told that Shimano would not be participating in any of the deals for Bass Pro's Spring sale. Noticed that this was true in the US program which has already started...can anyone confirm or deny this? thanks
  8. I decided this year to set up an aquarium to keep minnows at the cottage over a fishing week. Set up a 15 gallon aquarium with filters and airators. Everything was great until I got the minnows...man they stink ! I've had fish in the past, but wow, nothing smelt that bad...anyone have similar experience?
  9. Not the best fishing lake in the area. Very shallow (hence the color) and mostly sand bottom (hence the name).
  10. Timing is everthing ! I've been hunting hi and low for this exact setup for my Lund. Can't find anyone in the Toronto area that sells Swivel Eze Pedestals ( other then fixed ). Can you share where you purchased and the cost of the unit. Thanks in advance Carlo
