  1. went to Tom's place to take another look at that beauty .. 4" offset anti-reverse .... it spins forever ... cried again ..
  2. Come on, BillM STOP blaming it on me so that your wife/kids would think it was not your fault to buy such a beauty! I guess Kemper and I are the only ones who cry when seeing AS reels .. coz' BillM just buy it without any tears! AS reels are cheap comparing to so-called 'Engagement Rings' or 'Wedding Bends', haha
  3. Yes, I clean and oil my reel after every outing. How do I know if the spacer is too long or the screw is too tight?
  4. Trust me, I am not up to bling bling stuff at all (even if I were having the money to do so) Doesnt it make you envy when seeing other people's reel spins nicely in a super slow current and yours kinda limping its way through? Mike, please give us your insights!
  5. Damn, only wish if I could have all reels with rods setup already for me to try-out Really dont want to spend the money on the names not on the performance. What do you do if you accidently drop your AS in the mud? It seems to be complicated to be serviced by myself
  6. What are the centerpins known for fast startup and the price?
  7. Are there any reviews or some sort available? Is it true that the more expensive reels spin smoother? Kemper, you were not the only one who cried when seeing the AG reel. Somehow, I feel AG reel spins forever with just a little force ... and same with the Kingpin
  8. Having had all rivers frozen for the past two~three weeks, I started looking into which centerpin I should get next. As most of you know that the price can go from $1000 (New AnglingSpeciality) to $150, I wonder how you make the decision as to which one to get PS: I have had my Sheffield for two years now Any suggestions?
  9. I always yell 'Get the camera!' to my friends who fish with me haha
  10. Wow, you guys are all handy men! One more thing to add is that the lightbulb is up on the ceiling Since I dont want to worry about when the lightbulb will break, would you recommend me to simply break the lightbulb first regardless? (ofcourse, I will have some kinda bucket below the lightbulb)
  11. Noticed the lightbulb is stuck at the base when trying to replace it. Tried turning it pretty hard and was afraid of breaking it .. not sure if there is any rust built up in between metal contacts Any suggestions?
  12. I have checked all sinks & drains and they are all ok except the bathtub. Are there other reasons to cause the clog in such a fast manner? Going to try the 25 ft auger tomorrow
  13. Just got back from a quick 2-day trip to Windosr yesterday to find out my bathtub drain was clogged up. It is so bad that there is no vertex or whirlpool on the surface when filled up with water ... Could not figure out what could cause this since it was working just fine the morning I left Tried Drain Auger from Home Depot with Drano MaxGel and it didnt work. The entire 8-feet Auger went all the way in and could not dig out anything Help!
  14. My buddy and I were crazy enough or inexperienced enough to try our luck in steelheading today The water color was off-colored to the point which I would not even come out if I knew but enough to keep us wetting lines since we were there already. Needless to say, the weather got really bad after 12:00pm but we were stubborn enough to keep fishing in the heavy rainfall While hanging my garments for drying, I noticed that my brand new Simms L2 wader did not have any 'wet spots' on surface whereas half of my Simms jacket looked wet. wonder if it is because the DWR has been worn out and decided to get myself a bottle of ReviveX http://www.simmsfishing.com/site/revivex.html# The instruction says to spray it on and tumble dry it .. here are my question: 1) Will the hand-warmer fabrics be damaged when undergoing the heat? 2) Will there be any damages to my Simms? 3) Can it be hair-dryered instead of drying machine? Thanks!
  15. The other buddy of mine who got up late and was lucky enough to get his Simms L2 in LL at 6:30pm and he said there were still half shelf left ... not sure about the size. GBW, I guess you could try your luck to see if they can match the price for you tomorrow when you go. As far as I know, no other Simms products were on boxing day sale
  16. There were no good fishing stuff deals other than the L2 Simms. Decided to stick around after holding tight onto my purchase and could not find anything else to spend money on. The entrance to Vaughan Mills Mall is definitely a much more comfortable place for lining up .. However, my buddy told me it is further away from the flyshop .. based on his estimation .. haha Lets see if Simms wading boots will ever be on sale ...
  17. One buddy and I got to Basspro @ 7:00am today and we were the 6th and 7th person in the line-up under the impression there wont be crowds @ BPS Well, we were so wrong that there were hundreds of people lining up by 7:40am! As soon as the door opened, we went straight to Flyshop to pick up three Simms L2s for $150/each ($299 original) (we have already tried the fit and size before 24th). The clerk at the flyshop counter was joking about us being crazy until this guy came over to pick up 5 of them without hestitations ... WOW, and he asked the clerk to carry another 5 for him to check-out ... Guess he bought them for all his friends or he is in for serious businese! People we have talked to while lining up mostly went for huntings stuff wonder what other boxing day deals you guys have picked up?
  18. When is my turn to go fishing with Mike? what a day for you guys, really really jealous ... went out this morning disregarding the weather forecast .... oh well, you know the story ..
  19. Started looking into getting myself a new pair of wading boots What I have worn for two year is Chata Felt Sole with added studs and I have always complaint about how easy it is to get ice stuck under the felt sole and how difficult it is to walk up slippery muddy hills have seen and been advised by other anglers to get a pair of hiking boot with rubber thread to reduce ice stuck under and to improve walking on slippery muddy hill with additional studs to provde grips on ice. Not sure if so-called wading boots are any different from other boots and differences between different wading boots Thanks
  20. thinks for the tip to wear another layer of neorprene over my stocking foot going to try it for sure
  21. Just found out I had to pay for the shipping ... thought it would be on them ...
  22. Speaking of loaners, does Simms provide you loaners when the repair is in process? If so, I will buy SIMMS forever!
  23. L2 comes with built-in gravel guard which I have always put it over my wading shoes ... I dont think any gravel guards can prevent sands from coming in .. too small, I think but still .. hard to believe neoprene gets damaged like that ... thought it was in-destrutable .. how long does it usually take to turn it around? really dont want to waste time during the steelheading season ... damn
