  1. A local butcher shop in the Buffalo, NY area has a similar item. They call it a pork explosion. We had one on a fishing trip last year, yummy.
  2. Ticket sales will be tough for December if the games don't mean anything (out of the playoff picture). Tom
  3. You may want to try one of the Lake O tribs, I don't they received as much rain as down south.
  4. Hoping that by Sunday some of the WNY tribs are decent enough to get out.
  5. Billy Bob, the guy I have been fishing with uses 4 lbs. Fireline and it has been holding up well. I myself am an old time mono guy but I think the nonstretch and sensitivity of the super line may be to your advantage presenting baits to those deep water perch.
  6. The "Catt" is Cattaraugus Creek in the southern Tier of New York State. Sorry for the confusion. Tom
  7. Fished off the Catt on Sunday, 63 foot of water. Took home 25 but released quite a few. We were releasing 11 inch fish looking for anything close to 12. Off the water by noon as it started to slow down around 11 am. Emeralds were the bait of choice.
  8. Found this add on boattrader.com, Pittsburgh, PA. area. 2003, 17 ft. Lowe with a 90 hp Yamaha: My link
  9. My friend who took me out stated that all he had last week was the goldens but he had success on them. Our trip on Sunday was a last minute decision so we didn't have time to dip bait or purchase from some place like Big Catch. Hope to get out again, catching them was a blast on the ultralight.
  10. Purchased the bait at Miller's bait and tackle. Wish the bait was a little larger but the jumbos didn't seem to mind.
  11. We were out on Sunday off of the Catt in 50 foot of water. Caught 30 with 2 being in the 14 inch range. All fish were caught on Emeralds. Here is a picture of a few from our catch.
  12. Coho .............
  13. The lakers start staging in the Lower Niagara in Fall and can be caught along with the salmon in the river proper. On the US side, lakers can be caught at Artpark, Devil's Hole, NYS Power plant fishing platform and Whirlpool. You can also drift or troll the bar at the same type of year. If you have a smaller boat, go out on a calmer day. Trolling stickbaits or drifting with tubes or live bait will work. Tom
  14. Stayed at Marten River Lodge a number of years ago. Cabins and rental boats were very nice. Boats came equipped with fish finders, live wells, seats and I think 20 or 25 hp motors. The lodge was very relaxing and at the time we stayed, they had a licensed bar area which was nice to watch hockey. We found the fishing to be tough.
  15. You should carry your boat registration on your vessel at all times. Safety equipment will depend on the country origin of your boat. I would imagine that the safety requirements for Canada are very similar to the US. US citizens do not require a Canadian boating card while operating a vessel in Canadian waters. This incident could open a can of worms for people that do fish the Niagara.
