well it doesn't take away the fact that it was a crime where the punishment was way to soft but the opinions of family and friends hold very little weight in court..it's known to be bias, emotional and unreliable and that's way the crouwn never puts them on the stand until the sentencing portion of the trial. who knows maybe it was racially motivated,I know that when I first heard of this crime was outraged and wanted stiffer sentences for hate crimes. read and watched the news about this story, close to my home stomping grounds. then I heard the kid who said nipper tipping was just someone a reporter was interviewing for local flavour in the next town, he didn't know any of the people involved , he didn't know anyone that had ever done it here were no reports in the area of it happening....the story lost some credibility then someone told me the guy with brain damage was white, I laughed, as if but after a lot of research I one one report that showed he was in fact white...people here thought I was full of it..but it made me wonder about the story then I am told there were 7 people pushed into the water only 2 of them asian ..the story was breaking down a cop at a party was saying they were feeling pressure to go the hate crime route ..... a couple of special interest groups gain creditability and a seat on the police board so it was the straw that broke the camels back..........why were people lying and omitting things in this case either to hype the story or to make a case that really wasn't there... what the truth is, I don't know, but lying does not help their case.. I will say no more

and it is sad but all of that does not change the fact that the media hid as much as possible the fact that the main victim was white...made for a better story and that I was one of maybe 2 or 3 people reading this thread that knew he was white it was a terrible crime....

first I was wrong it was an asian with a white name now it's a friend in the car..give me a break.. and if I can find the info, if I remember right. 7 people were pushed into the lake that day and 2 of them were Asian the rest were of other races and yes they did insult each one as they were pushed and did use racial remarks on visible races ..it's what drunken morons do. but as of yet I can't back up these facts...

so, did you know the main victim was white...yes or no . was that an oversight on most of the media outlets or was it an important piece of info left out because it made the story less marketable

sorry but that is a joke read a story in the sun then the same story in the star they make up the news to suit their point of view, well at lest twist it to suit them

agreed I always thought the white bucket brigade were all the people that had buckets to put all their fish in, sitting along every canal and water access in Keswick [i grew up there], it was never about race

at first I heard all the news reports and thought hate crime. I was talking about it when I a guy said, well you know the guy in the hospital is white I didn't believe him till I saw a news report that showed family members and they were white then a cop said that there were more white people pushed in that day, but that doesn't make good news and cops get more funding every time there is a hate crime so they went along with the story... whether hate crime or just an attack this guy should have got more time

a reporter was interviewing people the day of the crime and a kid about 18 years old used the term nipper-tipping, pushing fishing Asians into the water however he was not part of the situation and he was not at the dock or where the car crashed, he was just a puck kid shooting his mouth off and the media picked up on it because it makes good news.....

lets see one of the 2 guys he pushed in the water was white the guy that got the brain damage was white where is this Racially motivated attack on angler you talk about.. there were more white people attacked then other races pure propaganda now I am disgusted by this attack and believe he should have got more time and no person has the right to attack no person...

yeah but as I said there isn't parking for trailerless boaters in the 2 parking lots at the ramp you have to drive to the next lot north and park there the guy that had the boat off the back of his truck asked me if I would keep an eye on his boat...took him 10 minutes not a big deal unless there are someone there looking for a free deal on fishing equipment

NO I don't live in Innisfil my house is in Bradford and I lived in Keswick for about 25 years

the last time I was there. there was one zodiac and one 12ft boat off the back of a pick up truck and I was asked where the parking was for them, had to tell them they were outta luck. the ramp I use in keswick, I would say 1 in 5 boats would not have trailers

well yeah that you can't miss all the signs they are everywhere but again unfair for some who uses the ramp to put a boat in but have no parking because they didn't have a trailer

good news but some people don't need a trailer for their boat but do need the launch, so they have to drive way over to the next parking lot, then run back to the launch

I once said use radial car tires and I got told many times I was giving out very dangerous advise however I had a very heavy ranger boat years ago at a tourney someone went around slashing tires I could not get trailer tires but the guy told me radial car tires would work great I had no choice so I got them and the trailer never ran so nice as it did with the radial car tires and gave me years of service but I would never tell anyone they would be ok
