  1. Welcome Nuno. Great vid
  2. Ya seen that. Pete, sent ya a PM.
  3. Oh I also came up with a plan on how to keep the drill and the batteries warm in the cold weather. I have an old insulated lunch bag. I,ll keep everything in it along with a coupld of hot hand packs. That should keep them toasty warm for the day.
  4. Dave,have you used a finbor 3 ? Like I said,they cut with just turning the handles.
  5. I,m not making or selling guys. Im sorry. This is my second day making these and not eating my lunch.
  6. Dave I was asked this on another board. If someone has a new finbor 3 8 inch,I would try it. They cut with little effort,so ya,maybe less holes due to more ice being cut. Dont forget,I was not pushing on the drill. The augar was doing all the work.
  7. You and about another 30 guys Bill.LOL I decided to make another, but with a 16 inch extention. Save on the bending over. .Every thing is press fitted and welded. The shaft is .125 wall galvinized conduit. The drill chuck connector is made from a piece of allen key. A pic of the one from yesterday. This is the connecting shaft.
  8. Well if they give you a hard time, theres a big parking lot in Barrie and easy lake access. Like said,it,s about the fund raising not the fishing. Yes there is fish in the bay here.LOL
  9. Simon,I made more friends trading knuckles Although there were other ways, but some of us took the road to HARD KNOCKS.LOL Last name didnt help. but it was my name. At the end,,, It turned out to be called RESPECT.
  10. 18 volt, but like said,it,s a tired old dog. HELL,you can do it from yer EASY CHAIR BOSS.
  11. I,ll keep this simple and to the point. There,s a saying, fight it out and you,ll be good friends after. Well, this is so true. My oldest had an issue with a fellow student many years ago..Ya know, king of the school yard crap. They had it out,one on one. After that, they became great friends. Both made their way up the hockey grounds I got to know him as TL. When I heard his name in a sled crash and found DATS,,it floored me. So young at 30 YOA. REST IN PIECE TL LIFE IS PRECIOUS and can be taken away so fast.
  12. Yup. 2-3 holes done in seconds and fishing. Game on.
  13. It,s an old beat up drill. A new one will be better. Theres not that much torque really. Just the first time I did it and didnt know what to expect. It goes down really easy.
  14. Oh I got it.LOL
  15. Good thing I cut off those saw blade tips.LOL
  16. Bigger round plate then the hole? Ahhhhhhhh, had it covered, the hole that is.
  17. I made the adapter and the plate is from a part we deep draw a part . All the goodness from work.LOL
  18. When yer walking and draggin Mike. This is the best for me. Husqvarna amkes a great power auger. My uncle has one. Sweet machine.
  19. Ya Im looking at getting the Clam. As for holes. I know one guy that has gotten 40+ holes out of one charge. 6 inch not 8. A second battery can be kept in you inside pocket to keep it warm.
  20. Yes,but that drill has worked it,s self to death almost. Before the video,I had already done 10 or so holes. It was so cool.LOL I tried to take a vid by myself, but walked out to a guy to help me. Cutting with one hand. Thats how good these fin 3,s are. Little tricky try to film and cut.LOL All these came from my Galaxy cell phone.
  21. Just me kuha. Old school. What happen to my video?
  22. All this talk about going electric with hand augars,I decided to make my own attachment and see what all the fuss is about. Well I can tell you. This is the cats . Ya I know I could buy an adapter for the drill, but I want something I know will last. Took me a half hour to machine it out, used my last 15 minute break to weld it together and paint. Grabbed the drill from work for the test run and headed to the ice after work. Finbor 3 cuts like a hot knife through budda by hand, but he weight alone from the drill is enough to make it cut with ease. Boy theres lots of ice out at Minets now. One thing I will add. I,ll be buying a new cordless, but it will have the key locking chuck. The hand tight ones are not for this. The plate you see is for if for any reason the auger were to seperate from the drill,it wont go through the hole. Seen that on youtube. No gas to deal with, and the handle is there if need be. IM HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY. BTW,I am not putting any down force on the unit,it is cutting by it,s self.
  23. Interested on how you broke the pole?
  24. All my reels are full of braid now. For perch fishing,I run a 4 ft floro lead. As for your comment about most ice fishing,Im thinking you mean deeper waters for lakers and whities. I was one that ran main all the way to the jig,til I was asked to try braid with a 6 ft lead of floro. What a difference. You can feel your jig/spoon so much easier. No stretch. When you felt the wieght,it was exact. It has made my catches 100x better. I will add,if your fishing out in the open and it,s - temps, braids not the way. Then again,I know a guy that down rigs with straight braid and catches fish too. WHATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT?
