  1. I love the plano stowaway but I didn't know they were supposed to be water proof becuase they dont seem to be. They are easy to use but I make sure I keep my plastics in there original bags because I dont want them to get wet. Im in need of some new boxxes, if you find some decent water proof boxxes let us know I have been looking around for the same thing but haven't quite found what I want. Goodluck with your search.

  2. I don't exactly agree with you that people should be giving there fishing spots out to every one to fish. Like said in a post above there is a lot of money time and energy put into finding and catching fish. I dont think its fair for you to think that everyone else is being selfish because they aren't telling you how and where they catch their fish. I dont think this board was designed to just be a place to find out where the fish are. If you need help ASK cause there are more then enough people on this board willing to help.

  3. Just drove across the causeway coming home from Pigeon today. I told the wife to look out the window at the "white bucket brigade". She asked why I call them that. Then she saw for herself. Maybe a dozen fishermen at 10:30am.

Well it's to rainy to get out today.... <_< But are you trying to say its not worth the trip out there? I would like to know for the future lol.

  4. Hey, I would realy like to get out and do some fishing today and I can't get very far so I was thinking about tryng to do some shore fishing on scugog. I have only fished it a couple times by boat so I don't know the area that well. Could someone recomend good places to shore fish? Keep in mind I'm coming from Oshawa and don't want to travle very far. Thanks in advance.

  5. I just put braid on my baitcast reel and it is ALOT more sensitive then mono. I was scepitcle about using braid but I think I'm hooked now. Ive been using mono leaders aswell. Braids just to hard to break or even cut lol.

  6. The brakes are to slow down your spool as your bait gradually slows down mid air. Can realy help A LOT when casting into the wind. Lighter baits you might need to engage more brakes but it depends on how they cast. Heavier baits tend to cast easier and keep there energy well going through the air so the dont need to be slown down as much.

  7. I've been wondering the same thing! I would love to enter a bass fishing derby but wouldn't be able to keep up with pro's lol. I tried to search for some but couldn't find what I was looking for. If any one knows any that would be awsome.

  8. I know the old marine area is restricted......but jay walking is also illegal. There is a customs trailer on the west side of the river they may have a better idea of the situation.

 Did the guy leave to go direct traffic in a parking lot?

If the guys does not show ID be nice and ask him if his feelings got hurt when he flunked out of security guard school.

    forrest

Yes I know that the old marina "was" restriced but the only reason for them not letting us fish there is because they dont want to be liable for an injurys They took out the old docks and told us (so I've heard) that we could fish the mouth of the river. But the security never even comes in there any more to kick fishermen out so I'm assuming you can fish it all legally now.

Still hoping someone knows more about this area.

BTW anyone here fish the old marina? maybe we could do some fishing some day, might not catch much though but I'll be down there any how. :blahblah1:

  9. Ok, so I was shore fishing the other day on Lake Ontario across from the pier at the Oshawa beach. I have been fishing there for a couple years every once in a while. When I was down there last week and I had a guy approach me and tell me I was not allowed fishing there. He told me that he was a harbor commisions officer or somehting along thoughs lines and told me I couldn't fish there becuase it was a restricted water way and they had boats from out of province and had to take extra security messures so the water way from second marsh to the harbour were restricted. It didn't seem right to me so I asked him for identification and he told me he was going to phone the police. I told him that I would comply if he could atleast show me his identification and he told me again that he would phone the police if I didn't leave.

I dont know much about regulations and restrictions so I was wondering if anyone can tell me if he is telling the truth or just didn't want me near their property. I'm not sure of the name of the place but it looks like some sort of steel plant. Any help would be great.

  10. Have got the chance to get out fishing with my girlfriend and her parents lately up in the Kawarthas. Fishing wasn't to bad, I managed to get a 5 pound 19 inch Largie throwing a spinner bait along a matt of grass.

Wasn't quite big enough to make it on the board for Team 7 but it's my personal best. Girlfriends dad was impressed and has decided to get it mounted

We tried to get out last weekend again and got rear ended by another vehicle on the way :wallbash:

The prop broke and had to wait for the insurance company so the boat had to go back. We were all packed so we decided to still go do a little shore fishing anyways. Got a couple small bass and ended up catching a small musky and loosing two others <_< but was still ended up being a good day. Heres the Musky.
