Thank you to everybody for the great responses! mustfish

LOL They would never find my body LOL

Do you use thru hull or transom mount transducers? That might make a difference on how fast you can go and still get a good reading. Seems the thru hull wouldn't pick up as much turbulence.

Sinker, I am going on a fly in north of Kenora, lake has depths up to 130 feet of water what kind of settings would you use on a lake like this. We will be on the lake May 24 so I am guessing most everything will be fairly shallow with the water being cold but you never know. Thank you mustfish

Yea, I did do that. MMMMMMMMMM boomerangs(arcs) getting excited just thinking about em

Just wondering if most people change the settings on their fish finders or go with factory settings. Sensitivity= Grayline= surface clarity= ASP= I am novice when it comes to fish finders. I have a lowrance LMS-160 map. I did a search on this board but didn't come up with much. Probablly did not word the search correctly. Thank you in advance! Mustfish

mustfish replied to Golfisher's topic in General Discussion
May 22cnd. Heading north(18 hour drive ) to Kenora, from there we are flying in to Lake Populus which is between Lake Dryberry and Lake Atikwa for a 7 day trip. We have been going to White River Ontario for the last 5 yrs so I am pretty pumped to see some new water and scenery Has anyone fished in this general area? -

Great replies everybody, much appreciated I am going to email the people we are going with and ask them to keep me updated on the ice situation. That would stink if we could not go when planned as we have been taking this trip(White River is where we have gone for the past 5 years) for 10 years running. Again thank you for the great response! mustfish

I am heading about 60 miles north of Kenora May 22cnd for a week at a fly in outpost. Can anyone tell this Buckeye how long the lake trout stay in the shallow water before they head back into the depths? Never really fished for lake trout so it should be a learning experience. Have learned a lot from doing a search on this site. This site is great! Thank you in advance! Mustfish

Fished Lake Cumberland today with my 14yr old son and his buddy. My son J caught a 6lb smallmouth 23" long 15" girth what a pig!!! He also boated a 10lb striper and his buddy landed 2 stripers 1 20lber and one 22lber 36" long and 34 " long man did he have a blast with those big boys!! We were pulling planer boards with live shad. It rained all day but the fish were biting and we had an absolute blast. I get as much enjoyment if not more at watching those boys catch some good quality fish then catching fish myself an absolute ball!!! Had a great time! More pictures to follow. Hope the pictures show up I have never posted pictures before.

That is not far from my shop. It is now called Behr a German company purchased it but still does the same work. The Air Force Museum is sweet! The Canada trip is my favorite of the year followed by the salmon trip in that state up north.
