  1. 10point - I was there last year (Windermere) 2023 May 27th through June 2nd. I was well prepared for cold, for wet, for nasty. What happened? Seven days of hot and humid. I mean HOT, like I've never experienced north of the Soo during "week two". 85-95F estimated each day. No fire ban when I went in, but I knew there was one as the days went on, as I daily observed MNR water bombers flying W (from Chapleau?) in the early AM and then back E in the later PM (It was the wildfire NE of White River along 631). Too hot for any campfire anyway. The black flies? None. The skeeters? JHFC they were prolific! I was solo, so I did not achieve as much hard fishing time as I desired, but the fishing went south - no breeze or wind, no rain, no walleye chop. Deadsville. You won't regret that week. Magnificent body of water with almost no development. Easy to get off track. Keep it booked. The camp operators are TOP NOTCH.
  2. LOVE that area. Thanks Dara for the report and photos. Will you be able to access your buddy's camp (anjigami) again easily by railway once the new Agawa Canyon Railway begins passenger service?
  3. I owned a new 14' Lund (SSV-14) and matched a 20 hp tiller Honda 4 stroke to it. The Honda 20 had pwr tilt/trim. Now I may be wrong and am here to learn. But you've described your "home" lake as rocky and lots of submerged reefs, etc, making for treacherous navigation. With my Honda 20 tilt/trim the motor was basically locked down, unable to "flip up" if/when it hit an object. In my two trips into ONT (Missinaibi Lake and White Lake) it scared the bejusus outta me to not be able to flip up, risking the entire lower unit somewhere remote. I sold the rig after a year, thinking my next boat buy will be tiller with no tilt/trim for this reason. Thoughts? ?
  4. Super photos, trip report, and Lake Trout! Also, that's a pretty good beer holder there. ?
  5. Didn't know about this....... really sad news. My Dad (now passed) and I rode this Beav for his 2nd fly-in trip (2003, I think) - he rode shotgun and (of course) loved it. Thoughts out for family and friends. ☁️
