  1. I have amber and gray, I used the amber (Angler Eyes) on the open water in lake Ontario last season and they worked very well. If I didn't have them I would not have lasted vary long in the intense light that the sun was causing when bouncing back off of the haze.
  2. Peter's Tackle in St. Catharines had a Grand Opening sale this past weeked. Peter's is located on Second Ave off Lake St. Lots of great deals at this sale. All set for the upcoming season now.
  3. Nice fishin machine, that should improve your luck this season. Cheers
  4. Got an early morning start yeasterday, with a couple of friends and we headed to the Niagara region. First stop was at Port Dalhousie around 7:00 am. A very cold wind was blowing, which stirred up the river bead up stream causing the water to become very dirty. A couple of fish were caught between the time we arrived and 10:00 am, but the action was very slow. We headed to Queenston on the Niagara River, there were quite a few boats in the water and the fishing was pretty good with one boat load reporting that they picked up 7 bows. I was able to land a nice brown, just after we arrived about 11:00 am, a few hits after that but no pick ups.
  5. Hi Lundguy, I have a 1990 2255 Bayliner, rigged up for Salmon fishing, and great for over nights and weekends. This boat is for sale as I am looking to get one that I can fit into smaller lakes as well.
  6. I know the entry point at Queenston, I also know of a place further up the river if you want to do a little trecking.

Bushart, Is that a real painting or is that a Photo that was enhanced through Photoshop?
  10. THanks for the tips, guys. Never though of the smaller lakes.
  11. Cool, glad to hear their are still some of us who have true grit. Nice fish as well.
  12. A friend of mine wants to do some Crappie fishing early spring, I told him just because he is a crappie fisherman that he did not have to go after crappie fish. He told me I didn't understand and that he was talking about a species called Crappie and not fish that are crappie. OK.. so now I think I kind of understand So I was wondering if anyone could help me out, I am looking for a good crappie hole this spring (April) in S.W. Ontario. Any Suggestions? Thanks, OlTroll
  13. Add gas, take an extra friend, and fish on!! I won't be home this fishing season, I will be out on the water. OlTroll
  14. Hi, I spent last weekend with a couple of friends out on the ice near Lonely island, south shore lk. Nippissing. Friday afternoon showed very nice weather, so we fished outdoors and enjoyed the sunshine. Saturday the weather took a drastic change with temperatures around -30c with the wind chill and the winds were blowing between 70-80kmph. Not very nice for a day that was suppost to be -5c and sunny. We sat in the hut all day Saturday had a few refreshments and told all kinds of war stories (some fishing stories as well, but Iam not too sure about the story of the 60lb Musky). The fishing was very poor and we ended up with one jumbo perch, a dozen normal small perch, three mud puppies, one pickerl (in slot size and had to put back), and one small cisco. All in all the company was as good as the food, even though the fishing was not. Cheers, OlTroll
  15. Poaching is not a good practice at any time. Yes please take your legal limit, but leave some fish for others to enjoy. With all the commercial fishing, poaching, and limited restocking efforts it is hard enough to keep a healthy sports fishery. Therefore if a judge understands the amount of effort and money it takes to sustain this fishery he will dole out a healthy punishment.
  16. Nice Catch, That walleye made me think of what was left in the freezer before the freeze up. Nice set up you have there.
  17. I did't think it was a good day to be out in the boat, so just stayed home and worked in the shop. One must stay clear of the house on days like these. Cheers.
