  1. What are you using gps or phone, you would need clear line of sight on 3 towers to be accurate with a phone

Most newer smart phones actually have a built in GPS recievers & don't rely on triangulation from towers.
  2. I had a mount made . When it was done, I was asked before even taking it out of the shop, if I would be willing to sell it for much more then I paid to have it mounted. The thought never crossed my mind. It was my first buck and there was no way. So there is a market for them.

Was it the taxidermy shop that asked you?
  3. 21 K probably is to cover the cost of their customers trip to wherever they hunted the animal. You just can't replace a set of antlers. When I was a taxidermist, this is what nightmares are made of. Imagine having to make the call to a customer and tell them their trophy is gone.

I'll believe that when the insurance settles up & they send all the customers who's antlers were taken a full refund for deposites + full refunds for their hunting trips which got the antlers.

A little to hard to believe if you ask me.

And I'm positive an insurance adjuster will think the same.

  4. Did you try the SeaFoam?

Sounds to me like the high speed orifice is clogged.

Idles fine but when you go to speed up the fuels not getting through. Piece of crap from the old tank could do this. Happened to me.

SeaFoam may be a quick/cheap fix.

The new tank will not fix the problem but will stop it from reoccurring.

  5. It's an old metal one. I've used seafoam before on small engines but they had intakes to put the seafoam in like a lawn mower you remove the air intake and pour the seafoam to clear the carb. How do I do that with this engine? There's no air filter to remove to pour seafoam into to clean the carb. Unless you mean just adding it to the fuel.

Never a bad idea to use it all year in the gas tank. Also seeing is that is an older metal one you may want to look at a new tank

    My exact answer.
  6. It's interesting you say that. I'm relatively new to downrigging (first time 3 years ago) and I would say that a majority of people I've downrigged with have a setup that allows the release to come out on a strike.

Sometimes fish tend to swim along with the bait after being hooked lightly.

    Won't pop the riggers.

I've seen this on Erie when one day the eye's will pop the riggers but on other days the best indication is a wiggling rod tip.

  7. Here's a rough map of the lake.

Big Moose is just above the *

D = Drop off. Vertically jig this area.

N = Narrows. Troll this area with rapala's or chartreuse worm harnasses.

A = Shallow weed flat. Troll here with shallow diving body baits. Blue & silver seems to work good.

  8. I have gone back to a liquidation store in Brantford that my wife dragged me into called Channel Control. 2 Shimano rods for 30 bucks each. Both 40% off sticker price. A few tables of tackle all 30% off. Live Target for 12 bucks. Worm harnesses $150.00. I went back there to get a 75,000 total BTU Propane that is convertible to NG which I have for $160.00. A pal that took a ride with me bought 1 as well. The same BBQ at Home Depot is $325.00 but propane only. Solar lights $125.00. Racks and racks of clothes all 40% off. A Dri-Fit brand name long sleeve shirt was 8 bucks.

    I hope that's a typo!

  9. Its tough. They have the right to do what they want but its a respect and curtsy thing.

I keep saying, my buddy's place on Quinte, we have no boat. We have about a 30ft radius to fish and thats it. Can people come up, park their boat right off the dock and cast over our lines? Sure they can, its totally allowed by law. But its a dick move. I don't know whatever happened to people being good Samaritans anymore.

To me it would depend on who's there first.

If your already there fishing than they should keep moving to another place.

If they are there first they have every right to be there. After a reasonable time maybe a friendly response from you will go a long way in having them move on.

Come flying out of the cottage the moment they pull up & starting to rant and rave will surely make the situation go down hill.

  10. Lol. You arent facing jail for not carrying id

This is true but if you are in violation of the Fish & Game Act they can demand you identify yourself verbally.

I believe failure to do so can lead to arrest until your identity is confirmed.

    Same applies to the LLA.

To give false information can lead to mischief charges.

  11. Boyd Island (Big Island) was privately owned up until last fall. The owner has donated it to Kawartha Land Trust for the small sum of $1,000,000,000.

Wow that's a lot of money for a trust fund.

My understanding is this million dollars will be kept in reserve for maintenance of the island to be kept in a natural state.

Only after I read this part did I relize you added three extra zeros to you number.
