-17 here tomorrow night, and a few cm's of snow tonight.
-36 is a little unreasonable. No time for that crap.

Go drill some holes already.

Beautifully coloured buck

Here on Lake Kipawa lots of people have solar setups, and they're pretty well all set up as you described
. You would need a massive set up to run your stove and fridge in solar, but definitely look into it for lighting. It's a lot nicer than having a genny running just for a couple lights.

I prefer to kayak the baits before sunset haha, but sometimes you have no choice.
Do any of those shark species have a history of aggression towards humans?

Woooweeee who pays triple time and how can I meet them! Haha
Most union pulp/paper mills pay triple time over Christmas.

Going in for my 12 hr shift tomorrow morning at triple time, then home for dinner. My daughters only 5 mths old so I wasn't concerned about being there Xmas morning, next year may be a different story

Great job Simon, looks like a blast.

Awesome report. Not sure I'd be out paddling off the beach after dark either after seeing a beast like that.

Although I will say, I do really like their 'rigger' tip-ups, I would never even consider a product like a portable hut with their name on it.

I'm 70 kms from the nearest theatre but I used to like going to see movies in North Bay while I was college (usually got a mickey or two in there and sat in the back...good times). Saw all the LOTR's and the two most recent Star Trek's...money well spent.

The Kinmount Theater is a nice night out. It's pretty unique, like an old museum set in pine trees and reasonably price tickets too.
Hah! I went there a couple times (my mom lives in Fenelon). Cool spot.

Because HT products are complete garbage.

A red Pilsner? Don't think I've seen any here.
Goose island brewery has a "honkers ale" which may be in the ballpark.
I was actually gonna rec the same thing. It's classified more as a bitter I believe and doesn't quite have the sharp bite of a true pilsner but its a very easy drinking, fruity malt ale. Probably the closest thing I can think of. The Creemore Pilsner might also be worth trying.

Drove thru Minden and Dorset today...they got hammered! Lots of snowmobile across front lawns haha. Still bare grass up here

Jethro Tull's classic sophomore album Stand Up....

They don't mess around in LSPP...checked my set lines and tore apart my whole campsite while winter camping on Gama. It was not appreciated LOL

There's ice in cochrane/kap/hearst areas, only 8 hours away. Didn't you drive drive all the way to Longlac by yourself one year just to fish for a day or two? Cochrane is nothing!
-
You'd have to drive to Kirkland Lake/Iroqois Falls area just to find barely walkable ice on tiny lakes.

Yeah, having a liver is the best 'detox' method lol. Eat and drink healthier, and you will be healthier, it really is that simple as far as I'm concerned. Those miracles detoxes are woo-peddling bullpoop.

This has got to be the first time I've seen every lake wide open this late into the year. Colder temps starting tomorrow, but still well above seasonal, I think we've had two days that reached -10 or colder so far this year, both were probably 2 weeks ago...ground is soft, unbelievable. I doubt we'll have a green christmas but it's entirely possible at this point. It will be interesting to see what the opener on Nipissing is like. Wouldn't surprise me if operators aren't able to get their huts out.

Beauty shots. Glad someone is taking advantage of this December we're having!
