  1. Sometimes I'm too lazy to run a shotline, and the lighter stuff doesn't take well to having lead on it.
  2. Probably should have mentioned that's on my heavy stick - on a lighter rod that wouldn't see leads over 6lb I would definitely give a lighter test a try.
  3. I run the 12, and find it to be perfect. I wouldn't go with anything less because I often run leads up to 10lb ultra green (and that stuff is strong!)
  4. I deleted my history and can now see the board on my pc (windows 7, google chrome) but when I login I get the fatal error message.
  5. Can't access the site on my PC, I assume because it want to use the skin that doesn't exist anymore. On the plus side, I'm running the IPS app on my iPhone and its working nicely.

    The Leafs

With the goaltending situation in Toronto the way it is, it will be nice to see them win a game never mind the cup. Riemer and Scrivens are a real 1-2 punch. What's that, Luongo you say? Yeah, that'll help
  7. I checked the ice at the end of the island, as well as the east side of the island and right in port perry - found it quite inconsistent still. Lots of sled tracks, but I wouldn't be on it with any machines yet...
  8. Was stalked by a big black bear just outside of Whistler a few years back. Seemed to be odd behaviour, just followed me down a path for probably 5 minutes, not threatening at all - seemed more interested than anything else. Unsettling for sure
  9. Should have checked this before I posted - thanks!
  10. Looking to get out for some pannies tomorrow, anyone been out yet? Won't be more than a short cast from shore... Safe? Ish? Swimming? Cheers
  11. 'nuff said. Fantastic stuff, I first tried it after fishing with Mike and haven't gone back to mono since (except in sub zero)
  12. Took 3 days for the cards to be "approved". I told two employees exactly this "There is a simple way to solve this problem - you hand me a new gift card, and YOU figure out why this one doesn't work" No such luck...
  13. Finally nailed the guide spacing on the 6wt spey conversion

  14. Problem has been solved, though much too slow for my liking. Never meant this thread to bash on sail, as I mentioned I'm a loyal customer and this was the first issue - had to do with some gift cards that weren't being honoured because they weren't activated in their system (I had all receipts with matching #'s) At any rate, I now have my gift cards activated but will be sending an email to head office because I wasn't impressed with getting the run-around from everyone I talked with.
  15. Assuming they are farm raised, yes very legal. There are also lots of fish markets that sell bass that are not farm raised - this probably isn't so legal...
  16. Should have mentioned that I like Sail as a store, and this is the first problem I've had - it's just a rather large one. Thanks for all the info ill let everyone know how it goes
  17. Not a warranty issue Mike, but thanks
  18. Hey OFC, Looking for a contact at Sail - preferably someone who has more power than your average customer service rep. I'm really unsatisfied with the way they are handling (not handling) my problem in store... I won't air it out here, unless taking it up a level gets me nowhere. Tired of being passed around from person to person, need a # or email for somebody who will help me. Cheers, Braden
  19. Don't warm up your rod too often though, I hear you'll go blind!
  20. Bingo. I fish custom rods because I enjoy building them, but I promise they don't help me hook any fish. They're only fish, and they aren't nearly as hard to catch as people think. I'm still blown away by the rod warming up thing...
  21. I don't think anything there has changed, every coach I ever had gave the same speech. At the same time we were also constantly drilled with "no hits to the head" no matter what the circumstance. When I was 16 I got ripped from behind, crosscheck-head-glass goodnight. It's not a great time to wake up on a stretcher, so I guess that's why I think twice about any check to the head (opposing playing being a dumbass with his head down or not). When I played, I'd have just taken the puck from that guy and put it in the back of the net
  22. I've had one for a year, IMO all the bad press is simply bad press. Great little machine, and has lasted longer than many others I have seen
  23. If it was the other way around, and a Canadian boy was getting carted off in a stretcher I bet there would be a lot less "got what he deserved"...just a thought. Maybe I'm too new school
  24. I've played hockey my whole life, and would NEVER step into someone that hard when their head is down. I hope anyone I play against would do the same... I'm not saying you don't hit the guy, but to blast him shoulder to face at full speed...doesn't seem like the greatest idea. At the very least, our boys need to remember that the international rules are different - clean or not that is going to get called 100% of the time in IIHF hockey. The stupid penalties need to stop if they want gold.
