  1. I'm pretty sure I'm hitting it. Not too sure about the island though. I was thinking of working it from the mainland!
  2. Like I said, we'll just have to wait and watch it all unfold!
  3. I happen to think that Pittsburgh will totally decimate Philadelphia. They barely got by Ovechkin and the Capitals. They cannot contend with Crosby, Malkin and Hossa. I guess we'll see how she all goes down soon enough. Stoked for the games tonight!
  4. Nice fish dude! Man, I have yet to catch a brown. That brown there looks a lot like a speck. Is that normal?
  5. It has been an amazing series thus far. I'm a little surprised that they benched Price last night though. That can't be good for team confidence. Either way, I predict that Pittsburgh will absolutely decimate Philly in the next round. And go on to meet Detroit in the final!
  6. In 13 more days, I'm heading north for 4 days of camping / fishing up around Espanola. We're hitting up either Gibson Lake or Russian Lake for ice out lakers and I'm hoping we can also hit one of the many other lakes close by for specks. There will be many other fishing excursions this year as well but I can't seem to see past the closest one at hand! I'm gettin' giddy just thinking about it!
  7. I hope it was Powerage you were listening to!
  8. Wow! Sorry guys, I didn't mean to whip the board into a frenzy. I've read many illuminating posts from both sides of the coin, and while I'm not choosing sides, I'd have to say that I agree that lining is not at all an admirable or honorable way to go about landing a fish. The unfortunate reality of this whole debacle is that when you are dealing with issues of 'morality' and 'ethics' you are delving into the labyrinthine realm of human subjectivity. Which tends to not be the most productive use of time. Let's all just get along and fish eh?!
  9. Pike open on Saturday as well. I hope to land the monster that holds up as the biggest of the tourney!
  10. What a thoroughly enjoyable read to wake up to after a nice afternoon nap! I don't believe the author was referring to lining at all. And if fish didn't go for marshmallows of their own volition, wouldn't the sale of these particular bait marshmallows be illegal as well? Isn't it true that many fish will potentially attack any lure out of curiosity and may be doing just that when they hit a marshmallow?
  11. Thank you and thank you! I've got it down now!
  12. Yes! Thanks dude! Now, how the heck did you do that?!
  13. It won't even let me post it from my photo bucket account. This is frustrating. <img src="http://s166.photobucket.com/albums/u114/Bloodsurf/?action=view&current=IMG_4085.jpg">
  14. 'Sorry, dynamic pages in the tags are not allowed' This is all I get. I don't understand. I was able to link to my photo bucket page before.
  15. Man, I'm daft! Somebody please enlighten me?!
  16. My first steelhead ever! <img src="http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=2854040&id=730485410">
  17. I just picked up a book from my local library branch entitled Great Fishing In Lake Ontario & Tributaries by Rich Giessuebel. It came out in 1986 so it's a little dated but it's still a good read. He mentions using small marshmallows as bait for catching steelhead and I've never heard of this technique. Does anyone do this? Does this really produce fish?
  18. Thanks for all the input gang! I've never tinkered with readjusting lures fresh out of the box to make them run more true. What does this consist of? Is it mainly messing around with the lip? Changing the angle?
  19. In the next day or two, I'm planning on doing a ridiculous amount of online shopping through the Bass Pro website in preparation for the season ahead. Recently, I've read a lot about Reef Runner crankbaits slaying walleye en masse. Does anyone have any input on the quality/efficiency of these lures? Should I go for the Ripstick? How do they fare when targeting other species like pike, bass and trout? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
  20. I love video games but have a strict no gaming policy as it would seriously cut into my musical practice time! Sounds rad though. Have fun with that!
  21. Ha ha!! No, unfortunately not. I should though. I've been trying to master bluegrass for 3 years now and still feel like a total hack! Luckily there are some crazy good pickers in Toronto and I'm fortunate enough to get to jam with most of them quite often. I'm still an apprentice though! Thanks all for the kind words.
  22. Your honestly is admirable! I don't really have any traditional bluegrass video stuff. Maybe I'll eventually get around to it. I've actually mainly been givin' 'er on mandolin for the past year and a half. I only occasionally play the banjo as a result.
  23. Ha! Thanks! Yeah man, I had a great time and look forward to doing it again real soon!
  24. Bill, I've been pickin' the ol' banjar for about 3.5 years now. Here's some footage of me playing Scrugg's style: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMGX_daz8Ls Mind you, I'm playing along to Judas Priest which is blasphemous as far as purists are concerned, but whatever man, I dig it! I do play mostly bluegrass though. And here's some old-time clawhammer style: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npoljvVHiFA I would be happy to help you out in your quest for 5 string supremacy any which way that I can!
