  1. New is nice but even with the incentives a 2011 F150 XLT is over 600 a month, I`d buy used and save a ton of money!

With the amount of interest you will pay for a used truck (assuming your not paying cash), it works out to be roughly the same. So you may as well buy new with 0% financing IMO.

  2. I worked in the industry for 8 years before starting my career. Some of the above is valid reasoning, but alot of it is not.

BillyBob: a manager will not come out and speak to you, if you did not request one, or if the server did not tell his/her manager about the issue. Servers will avoid telling managers about issues because they dont want to get in crap. They usually just take the loss and expect to not get no tip. Next time request a manager and watch the bill get lowered or free items brought to your table.

Key word of advice to people in a restaurant: snarkyness will not get you nothing but bad service because as soon as you do that they already know you are not the "tipping" type. Being polite and professional will get you the best service. Before complaining about how long you have waited for your food (I agree BillyBob 2 hours is ridiculous), take a look around you and observe how busy the restaurant is, and how busy the server is. If you want quality service, don't eat out on the weekends, and if you do, make sure it is after 8pm.

I bet money pikeslayer agrees with all of the above :thumbsup_anim:

  3. Or it would end up on the Lemon list along with the Toureg.

Please do tell why. I drove the newer Toureg TDI 6 cylinder and it is on a level of its own. You must be referring to the older Taureg with the v10 diesel engine? That was a lemon, but also the first crack at a v10. The North American truck manufacturers have been making junk for years :ninja:

Craig_Ritchie: Ya I have seen a few of those Rabbit pick ups around. They only came in 1.8L 8v gas engines I believe, so they were way too underpowered, which is probably why they did not sell in North America. The new concept looks nice.

  4. TD Melloche Monnex. 2 new cars, boat, house, cottage, and snowmobile... $340/month. And never had a problem with their service.

And I wrote off 2 trucks last year. Only 1 was at fault

TD increased my rates by 500$ a year because premiums went up. I am 25 with a clean record and pay 168$ a month for a 98 tdi jetta. That is with a "multi car discount". Robbery.

  5. It all depends where you live IMO. Like Tybo said around the city your driving in slush. I have noticed that most of our substantial accumulation of snow occurs overnight, which is when there is the least amount of traffic on the roads. I will take ABS brakes over snow tires anyday. Drive according to conditions and you will be ok.

  6. Probably the best plasma tv made to date! Period. Unreal colors and speed. All around though....I'm still LCD

Incorrect. The Pioneer Kuro would take it hands down. These tv's were sold in 2008, and are far better than the tv's sold today. It's a shame that Pioneer got out of the tv business. Although, I herd they sold their patent to Panasonic. So be on the look out for high quality Panasonic tv's in the near future.

  7. Very dangerous near that dam. I often pull up and let the motor idle in neutral to see what the current is doing before I toss out the anchor. I have had several snagged anchors and as you keep tugging on the rope to try to free it, you only pull closer to the dam. My rule is start the motor and prepare something to cut the anchor rope with prior to pulling in an anchor. Problem is, the closer you are the better the walter fishing is :wallbash:

  8. I have been in the market for a tv for a while now. Just recently I pulled the trigger on a 60" Sony led. I have read countless reviews about all tvs. They all have their issues. I then quickly realised that warranty is going to be the most important aspect of whatever I purchase. With a little digging around I learned that Costco gives you 3 years warranty if you sign up for their American Express card (2 years without AMEX). 3 years warranty in Best Buy or Future Shop is up to 400+ dollars alone. I have a friend who has gone to Costco after his warranty has expired and they still gave him some money for another TV. You don't get that kind of quality ANYWHERE. Therefore whatever you buy make sure its at Costco (no I am not affiliated with Costco). Keep an eye out for their sales they always have them going on. Even when not on sale, they always compete with Future Shop and Best Buy.

As for deciding on what to get. Make a decision as to whether you want lcd, led or plasma. This should be dictated by where you will be keeping the tv. If it is in a low light level room, then go for plasma. If not then consider lcd or led. If you go with a plasma be very weiry of a reported "buzzing" sound. Some tv's have it and some don't. As for brands I would stick to Samsung or Sony. Hope this helps!

  9. Thanks for the update.

The power of positive thinking is an amazing thing.

    It sure is.

For some reason I suspect you have seen this already but here it goes for those who have not. Rent a documentary called "The Secret". It is all about positive thinking and how it plays a huge role in your positive thoughts becoming reality. This goes for everything wealth, health, success, etc. I remember the one example showed a middle aged woman who was diagnosed with breast cancer. She refused chemo and said that she would let nature takes its course. All she did was watch funny movies/comedies, laugh alot and stay positive. To her suprise, when she had her following screening the doctor asked her what she had done as the tumour had totally cleared.
