  1. Perfect, I'll ahve a look for them, thanks much. I've seen the shinrs in the yellow pacakges at BPS, I assume they'll have smelt like that to then.
  2. That sounds like they're al ittle bigger than I'm looking for, anyone else know where to get them? Thanks either way Woodsman...
  3. Anyone know where I can buy smelt in the GTA or anywhere along the drive from Toronto to Huntsville? Been a slow year fishing wise for me, I'd go so far as to say this has been my worst year fishing to date....sad but true. So no pictures worth putting up, apologies....
  4. Wow, that's a nice fish there Ben! Well done man.
  5. Another vote for the Chug Bug...
  6. You know, I've been fishing there for the past 5 years, and I've never seen one. Now a few guys I talk to catch them all the time even without fishing for them. Every year in the derby some one pulls out a beauty....so I konw they're there, i just need to find'em.
  7. HAHAHA, yeah that's a pretty good tip I'd say.
  8. Hey Folks, I'll be up on Skeleton lake for a week starting tomorrow, if anyone else is on the lake, we should hook up and trade tips. I can catch Lakers, I just haven't been able to get a Walleye and would love to hear some tips. Cheers, -Graeme
  9. Great report Ben! Good luck with your new gig this summer. I'll be sitting here at my office trying to figure out why I'm not where you are! -Graeme
  10. Hey Guys, Haven't posted in a while but I was impressed with this so thought I'd share. I went to the Toronto Sportsman show on Sunday and decided to buy a new downrigger. Grimsby tackle didn't have the mounting plate I needed for it but the walker rep was on hand to tell me he'd personally send me the part. I was skeptical (seems to me I wasn't always as skeptical as I am these days....sad really) So I bought the rigger and the plate and gave Graham (walker Rep) my card in the hopes that I'd see the plate at some point. Well doesn't the thing arrive today in my office. Two day turnaround....now that's impressive in my books. I often read stories on the board about terrible service, so I thought I'd throw up an example of great service. Going forward I'll be buying walker products when I'm in the market.... Cheers, -Graeme
  11. I've been going to Spiros and Sons and they've been great everytime I've had to go. hoenst and fair prices. It's on the corner of Kingston and Courcelette. Just east of Victoria Park.
  12. Hey Folks, I'm looking for ice fishing hut rentals around the GTA, simcoe obviously comes to mind first, but am open to anything. Can anyone give me a recomendation (both overnight or just the day) and share some expreinces with me? CHeers, -Graeme P.S. if you don't want to be seen as advertising, just PM me.
  13. Guys in my boat use bottom bouncers and they seem to work pretty well for it. Then you don't need to deal with the mess of a three way swivel. Just remember to let it out ever so slowly to get it down there without twisting up. I'd also be using a braid, they tend to cut the water much better thus getting your lure down deeper. Just be suure to tie on a flouro leader.....
  14. Wow, those are some sweet tips there Trouologist, thanks a bunch. I've taken note and I'll let ya know how I do come Monday. As I said, I'm looking for the big ones all weekend, those a re few more tactics that I can put in the bank. Cheers, -G.
  15. Hey Misfish, life is good, how's the tour going for ya this summer?? Apparently the gulp catches fish... Yeah Nemo, that's the place, my patience for jigging is slim at best, so I really don't know exactly what I'm doing when it comes to it, but maybe I'll give it a shot. Looks like winds will be light this weekend. I'll let ya know how it goes. Thanks for the tips!
  16. Yeah defintiely been a while since I been on here. I'm on skeleton, it's a deep limestone lake. Been working it pretty hard for the past few years and I can now boat Lakers pretty consistantly, I just haven't got into the big ones that I know are there! I assume you mean a lipless rapala? Thanks for the tip. I've acutally never tipped my spoons with anything, I'll give it a shot. What about tipping it with a piece of gulp or something?
  17. Hey Folks, sounds like everyone's summer is going well. The reports have been spectacular to say the least...Moosebunk anyone???? WOW is all I can say. Anyway, I get a weekend to myself this weekend and I intend on dragging the lake for some big lakers. Any tips on speeds for the big fellas? Also, has anyone tied a trailer fly to the shank of the trebble of a spoon? What about clipping a swivel on your line after the riggers are set to get a lure down to the bend in the line. I've been all over the standard 4 pounders my lake seems to produce, but I haven' spent a lot of time at depth where the big ones apparently lurk. My lake gets to about 200 feet deep with some great structure out in the middle where it runs right up to 80 ft from 200. It's pretty much like a little submerged mountain. Any tips you can offer up are appreciated, and if I do manage to boat anything out of the ordinary you better believe there will be a report come Monday morning. Cheers, -Graeme
  18. T'was great meeting you Rich! Sorry to hear your luck didn't get any better than ours did. Cheers, -Graeme
  19. Nice Work Clive! Congrats on the new addition.
  20. Thanks for all the great responses guys. Roy, I like that idea, hell it's a bachelor party and i don't imagine any of the boys will want to be taking the fish to the entertainment after the trip....give this dude all the fish, Who knows. I guess it all depends on him getting us into a good amount of fish. thanks, -Graeme
  21. What do you mean by that Roy? so if we catch 10 fish we pay??
  22. Heh, this guys getting about a pile of cash!! 20 guys 6 hours with dinner and beer
