1988 I think you got your money's worth treat yourself to a new one. There are no fuses built into the 1988 trolling motor it would have been a fuse you installed between the motor and battery.

The amp storage capacity does not have anything to do with the amps it puts out. The battery puts out 12.65 volts brand new fully charged no matter if it is a 100 amp or a 1000 amp battery. The amps are equal to how big the gas tank is on a car. The battery will only flow the amps that are called for. If you are on low as a number we will say 5 amps passes thru the circuit while on high it might pull 25 amps all are dependent on the trolling motor calling for that amount. A short in the motor is an infinite amount of amps so it will over heat the wires inside of and back to the battery. The battery can be damaged from this condition though. You should have the battery tested at the battery place for amp storage capacity and max voltage that it can put out to see if the trolling motor shorting out damaged it. A new trolling motor seems to be in your future.

I would think if in doubt move to an area that you are sure of. Fish are all over they are not only in the sketchy areas he fished in. We have boundaries here between D.C. Maryland and Virginia. If you fish D.C. without their license your busted. If you put a bait net out in Maryland your busted. If you possess a Striper in the wrong zone you will get a ticket. It is something I live with every time I fish.I also took the time to learn and use a GPS to keep from getting a ticket. If you can't afford the tools needed to obey the laws then you don't have the resources to fish there it is that easy. I spend over $200.00 a year in licenses to be able to fish in the three zones it's not a gray area it is in black in white and easily verified with modern navigational equipment that is available to everyone.

That's a great program I am glad they are doing it. We have a program on the Potomac River were you can buy a boat license for $35.00 a year it allows everyone on the boat to fish under the license even if the are out of State or Country.

I make them and can make them to your size if you want. Any colour etc. PM me if you'd like.
I would order more of them from you Joey but I haven't been able to tear up the last batch.
Your quality is going to put you out of business.

The fish don't recognize it as a mouse. I'd bet that 99.999999% of the fish that encounter your mouse lure (or live mouse) would have never encountered a mouse in their lives.
Leave the little mice alone and use something else that mimics a vulnerable creature stuck on the surface and you'll do just fine.
Mice actually are on many fishes plate of offerings. They live in the tall grasses around ponds and streams and jump into the water to get from one place to another. I found the movement of the walk the dog style with pauses to be deadly instead of the jerk stop jerk of a frog lure. I have one mouse lure I call frankinmouse it has been sewn with powerpro and glued back together with arrow fletching glue twice so far from the punishment of bass and a few snakeheads down here.

I think Etackle.ca carries them so you don't have to pay the UPS gouge factor.

No need, I came into work this morning and now the snakehead is gone. It's weird. My little muskie seems to be getting a bit fat. I think he could probably use some exercise, so I'm going to take him for a walk on my lunch break. He shouldn't be out of the water for more than 20-30 minutes, tops.
Hey, which way should I pick him up when I lift him out of his bowl? I've been doing it by the anal fin, but he doesn't seem to like that very much...
O.K. I am calling shenanigans on you everyone knows a Snakehead will eat a Musky well before that wimpy ass Muskie can even get near the Snakehead.

You don't need a big motor to be an ass on the water. I have had people in 9.9 do thinks that I have never seen an over powered bassboat do. I own 2 jetskis and 4 boats from a 10ft pontoon to a 28ft twin inboard and in no case has it been the motor size that makes a mistake. They all have different uses it is like a toolbox I don't have to use a bassboat on the shallow river and damage it I can use the jet drive. I use the bassboat to get to an area I want to fish and the layout of it makes it pleasant to fish. Don't blame the high performance for poor judgement and bad decisions.

The Target Live mouse is an awesome mouse lure. It is one of my favorite topwater lures and accounts for quite a few nice bass from the weeds.

Bring a fan for blowing air across where you are sitting it keeps them from having an easy landing zone.

10-12 lbs on the size. I am not surprised I have caught quite a few while throwing crank baits for bass. The Channel Cat above 5 lbs is know as a top end predator that prefers fresh caught prey over dead baits.

If you think it might be the difference of the rod...switch the reels and see if it tames down.

I found trolling with the electric motor near dark a good use for the lure.

It is easy to apply make sure you do the prep work exactly as stated. The final product will show excessive product mistakes and over working the product. Just make sure you are consistent thru out the application and do it all at the same time.

IF every thing else fails and you need to go to trim tabs look at getting adjustable (hydraulic or electric)units they offer the ability to tune the ride to the water conditions and load changes. The Bennett tab system goes one step further by allowing you to add an automatic trim adjuster meaning once you are set on plane you push a button and it will adjust the tabs for load movement and speed changes. This feature is over kill for most boats under 20 ft but it is an option.

If you have some one close who knows how to trim out a motor and knows what to feel for it would be worth a 6 pack of brown pop to tempt them out for a blast.

I would not bother for crappie they are not set up in as effective way as tying 4 tubes on taglines with a bell sinker to keep it straight.
