These are some of the improvements I either repaired or added when I restored a Ranger I rebuilt and I have found very useful. The 12 volt plug and the light in the rod rack are things on my to do list. A friend has red led lights running low under the rails for night fishing and it allows you to land fish and walk around the boat without destroying your night vision.Winter is a great time to do the little improvements we all wish we had when it is fishing season.

The height of all toilets are the same. The issue of a flange to high can only be corrected by lowering the flange. If the flange is level or below the floor then by adding a wax seal could help but is not correct as far as being permanent. The Flange when correct is the backside of the flange is flush with the floor with 1/4 inch of flange for pvc or abs above but supported. If you want remove the 4 screws holding the flange to the floor see if they are stripped out. Push the flange and see if without excess force it will rest on the floor. If so recess drill 4 new holes and install 4 S.S. screws that are flush with the flange top don't over drill the tapper holes. If you can get the flange correct you can set it with 1 regular wax seal. Adding more wax makes it more likely to compress inward and interfere with the toilets throat. In some cases the flange can be cut out from the top with a special cutter and or a special bit can be used to extract the pipe from the fitting. Using a inside flange on 3" pipe usually gives you a toilet that doesn't leak but clogs easily. If you don't want to cut the snow skirt and the price of the tools for one use will make this a job that is cost effective for a plumber to do.

The brake cleaner will flash well before it gets to the running stage.This is a good note if someone decided to try to clean the carb with it while running though Thanks for the safety point. If you feel you might have a leak on the intake while running at idle spray CARB cleaner around the intake but not the carb intake any raise in the RPM is an indication you have an intake leak. Before using any gasket material make sure you do not get it in any of the gasket ports between the intake and the carb. There are some carbs that have pinhole sized passages near the flange that regulate the lower air circuits and if gooped will give you fits tuning and then cleaning.

Best to clean it again and this time use a can of brake cleaner( yes not a typo) with the straw and blow it thru all of the passages in both directions. The carbs main jet located at the base is the most important part of the fuel delivery system on motors that are run full throttle for most of there working conditions. Most carbs I pull down and rebuild have to be either cooked or sonic cleaned to get rid of the varnish that builds up. A third process if you are not familiar or do not have the equipment is to soak them in VARSOL for 12 hours or if not available brake cleaner because it does not eat the rubber parts like carb cleaner will.

Mike I would start with something simpler that is load test the battery and check the alternator output. If it passes both then put an inline amp meter to see if you have any amp draw with the key off and the truck door closed, radio off etc. If so then start pulling fuses but cold weather might be more than the battery can overcome due to age.

Can you suspend service for the winter and then pay a restart fee cheaper than what they are billing you? I would also consider when you get the bill with zero movement and a service report for down power in circumstances beyond your control might get you a refund.

I received a note from my propane company of many years and the prebuy price I paid was $2.28 per Gallon. The note was to inform me they would be reducing the price I pay to $1.99 per gallon with a refund of any unused balance returned in March after the heating season. With the easy winter we have had so far they said they will not have to purchase any more from the suppliers during the cold season.
