  1. The Home Depot contractors have a very poor reputation here in the States. Best bet is to have a cabinet maker remove the cabinet and install facing to make it fit correctly. Then an electrician to pull a line from the panel to the dishwasher. The Plumber will then tap into the hot water line and run the drain to the Garbage disposal tap in or a drain T in the line. He should be able to mount the dishwasher in the top and level it. All told it will get you the best job without any juryrigging.

  2. I will take you fishing and fish my most productive spots with no issues. I will also go fishing with you and you will take me to your best spots. I will ask your permission before I go fish a spot that you brought me too. I would hope you will return the courtesy. If not then you will find my fishing calendar is full when you ask to go again with me.

  3. I also will add that the vapors from the lead are toxic and it is a poison that accumulates in your system. If you are heating lead clean or dirty make sure you have adequate ventilation. Remember if you can smell the lead then you are breathing toxic fumes. I almost always use old wheel weights the garages are happy to give them to you or charge a small price if they scap them. Once I get them I sort thru them and any that are rubber coated or shiny(aluminum) I set them aside for recycling. Then melt them down till they are liquid. The metal clamps and the impurities float to the top and I use an old spoon that is marked not for food use to skim off the impurities then the shiny lead I either let cool off as a ingot or pour the heads. Don't forget to not smoke while pouring and wash your hands before eating or drinking. Gloves and eye protection is a must if you mix any water or saliva with the lead while melted it will violently splatter from the steam.

Be safe I have the scars to prove what carelessness will do to you.

  4. Thanks Lorne the roots to Carp fishing tournaments are in Europe I believe and the area you have to fish are quite different than the waterways we are blessed with here. The sport over there are very formal in dress and actions and that blends in to the rules of yesteryear and flavor the rules we follow over here.

  5. Does the stock automatically update, so if you have it it is displayed? And if it is sold, it is not displayed? I was looking for the spinnerbaits and could not find any. I guess Mercman bought you out..

That is a nice system t.j. it looks like it is a place to check back every few days to see what nugget of goodness pops up. :clapping:

  6. Radiant heat is very expensive to retrofit into a house. It also does not provide for humidification of the air. I installed a electric grid under the tile in my parents bathroom and while nice it is expensive to run but since it is one room and the rest of the room is over the top anyways they deserve it.

  7. A wise man ounce said: A Canuck should always take home heating advice from someone living south of the Mason-Dixon line with caution. :ninja:;)

No useful advice from me, just pot shots at my friend to the south. :P

You are correct sir. It is why I didn't tell him how much he would save on the conversion. Once the initial outlay Propane is one of the best ways to heat for ease and convenience. You could also get rid of most of the heating issues by coming to the Dark side Southside Luke.

  8. I'm loving the lay out T.J. and look forward to seeing the summer selection of products I don't get any chance of icefishing done down South here.

I am sure as you have piloted this and your many other sites forward the Tackle shop will do just as well.

  9. Propane all the way here. I have a 500 gallon buried tank that is filled on a contract. They send me a quote in the summer for $1.99 this year per gallon and I bought 1000 gallons. If I don't use it they will send me a check or just keep it on the account for next year. The conversion btu is 96,000 btu per gallon of gas. A Water heater is 45,000 btu's or 1/2 gallon per hour. The furnace are usually 1 gal per hour. The 92% efficentcy units are vented through PVC pipe and will eliminate any chance of chimney fires in the future. You can also check into a wood stove shaped gas fire unit that burns 30,000 BTU per hour that is on a thermostat and does not need to be vented. If you need any other info call or P.M. me.

  10. Small world. I am going there on the 20 of Feb. for a week of fun and fishing. My brother was there two weeks ago and was on the far side of the island and found that most of the fish to be had were reef fish. He fished the Atlantic side for a limited amount of time though and caught a few fish over a foot. The bait of choice it seemed was the silver/chrome rattletrap burned back behind the surfline. The area that you (we) are going there should be more of a surf fishing type environment. That being said the fish can be caught with bait or lures just behind the surf line. I usually use a 5 oz sinker with a slider hook rig and a 1/0-4/0 hook and small fish caught in the surf with a sibiki rig. (5-7 tiny hooks inline). A few top water and a few large wiggling and tight wiggling lures 4-8 ft running lures. a few Crappie sized jigs with marabou and if all else fails and you want to just jig around the rocks and have fun get a tiny hook and some bananas (no I'm not kidding ) squish up some banana and chum with it then a hook with a little banana gets dropped in the middle of the fun.

Good luck and send me a P.M. when you get back and tell me what you found worked please.

    Thanks

  11. Wow this is interesting.

We've been using UPS at work for shipments from US to Canada on average 3 times per week for the last 15 years and have not had a single shipment go missing or have any major issue. They've been quite reliable in my experience. That's not to say it isn't more costly when they clear your occasional package for you. We have a seperate customs broker so the only cost from UPS is the courier cost itself which hasn't been unreasonable. You definitely want to switch to a freight company though when you're getting close to 80 lbs or more.

I don't get it I live in the US and get parts and material thru UPS all of the time 4 to 6 times a week and have had only one package arrive beat up in 3 years. It was packed correctly so no damage was found. I do find that the cost of shipping is getting to high but it is across the board all of the shipping companies are going up due to fuel and expenses. I hope that UPS can get things straightened out up North because the company appears to be solid down here. I however have to say that till they do I will still continue sending things up North thru USPS it seems to be easier for you all to receive.
