  1. I love the documentries that pose the question in a very serious way at the begining and finish with." While we have not been able to find a shred of evidence that supports this outlandish claim we still spend a lot of money proving nothing" (in your best Robin Leech Voice)

I have had lots of things that go bump in the night adventures but they all had an explanation that someone else explained to me. The fun of it is whether or not you believe them.

  2. How did he miss the stinger hook? I feel your pain I had a Snakehead on that I just know would have been a record but he tossed me at the boat. I found out later that week a buddy of mine hooked a new state record two days later from the area I had the hook up.

  3. The hardness of water is not corrosive in most cases. Hardness is an indication of Lime or minerals which are neutralizing the PH. The corrosion of the Tank can often be traced to grounding of the electrical system to the plumbing (dielectrolysis) and friction loss from water moving thru the pipes over time. The cutting off of the water supply and the draining of the system to prevent freeze damage is the best method of keeping you from having a surprise when you arrive. The plastic tanks in my opinion have other faults that make them no better than the metal ones. I have replaced them due to cracked fittings, leak in the diaphragm and pressure stress cracks in the assemble.

  4. Awesome fish Mike but really what possess you all to think 42 F is water to stand in brrrr. I used to Race Jetskies in that temp range but it was in a drysuit and we engineered the heated engine water to spray on our gloved hands to keep them from freezing to the grips.

  5. I track them in a lake and found they move out to secondary points and suspend. I find they mix in with crappie not so much as species mixing but environment. I slow troll micro jigs tipped with meal worms and will find pods of both feeding very lightly. They are between 5 and 15 feet deep in water as deep as 35ft which is the deepest spot in the lake. They will move very little both up and down to get to a bait and the strike window is small when it is this cold. We rarely get a complete ice over and never strong enough to ice fish down here so my seasons are not as severe and our time lines are different.

  6. We have the snakehead in one of the local rivers I fish and I have caught and eaten a few of them. They are a firm fleshed fish that is light and white in color. The truth is it does resemble chicken I am not ruling out he was being flippied but it is a fair description of the flesh. I also agree that we don't need the fish in any waters that it hasn't already contaminated because it is a dominating species.
