  1. One of the tech's at work brought in a washer and dryer. Hooked into the 20 tonne test weight with the 18 ton spreader and 18 ton boom. With the

hydraulic working at the equivalent of 45 tonne and 1.5 feet per second. They where only 3" high after.

Realy shows you that their is not much to a washer and dryer.

  2. window defroster's work in all ellements to melt the ice on the other side of the glass.

Tried use window de-froster element and a piece of mechanics wire.In the dry shop it drew 3 amps and burnt to the touch.

Out in the rain it went up to 5 amps and started glowing.

If I have time tonight I'll try add a 1 amp resistor.

  3. How many times have you seen people driving with their flasher on. :wallbash: Theres got to be away after so many seconds you get a heads up.

My truck has this, but take along time to set off the warning chime and pops up on the display.

Tried it when I first got the truck.Think it took 7 to 10 minutes before it chimed.

  4. Your battery is sitting for a week in well below zero temps. A 30-40min drive one time a week isn't going to help much.

Five minutes of idling should regenerate a good battery after starting.

It's not like the alternator is trickle charging the battery.

Mike. Even if the alternator is not working properly,Your battery is done from the excesses drain. The damage is all ready done.

  5. You might want to pay attention to changing the battery switch position while the motor is running. Some highly recommend NOT to do it as it may/will fry your alternator on the motor. That's for you to research.

The only thing the switch can do is pop the diode if you turn the switch off.

If there is some thing wrong with your battery and pop the alternator has nothing to do with the switch.

  6. Mark,Use the two with a battery switch. Then run the riggers on the second battery and the boat off the main cranking.

When your done with fishing.Start the engine with the main cranking then switch to the second to re-charge with engine.

Then when you get home switch too both for the maintenance charge.

This will help prolong the life of the batteries and your alternator.

  7. Um, DUH!

If you don't go to the boat show you are missing out on an opportunity to answer many questions (first hand) that you would otherwise have to rely on random people whom you really don't know (from forums for instance) to answer.

By any chance are you a sales man.Because they will say anything to make a deal.So how are your question being answered first hand.

Myself would take the word of a product user or a tech over the word of a salesman.

  8. Trade show are not what they use to be. With computerized billing and inventory it's harder too push product out the back door.

Their is also a very high over head at shows now also.

Alot of vendors need to higher temp sales staff for the show also longer travel or stay in motels.

This is all monies that the vendors has to recover.

30 years ago a trade show was a smorgasbord of deals,Not so much now.

  9. Do not hook up 12v too a 24v series battery. This is detrimental on the batteries. When hook up to a single 12v in 24v the single battery is only being use.

The other battery doesn't push amperage into the battery being used for 12v.So now you have two different amperage's in the batteries. Then you turm on the trolling motor,

Increasing the amperage draw from the 12v hooked up battery.More draw the hotter the battery gets causing damage.

In a multiple battery hook, Your batteries are only as strong as the weakest one.

You must use a 24 to 12v inverter.
