I did a search that only turned up one old thread,so maybe others have been there since with some new information?
i have camping booked there in july, and hope to get a lot of fishing done. any tips, advice, experiences anyone would like to share would be nice.
what about rentals in the area? im not a fan of fishing out of canoes, dont anyone rent row boats anymore? lol
thanks in advance to those who reply
I've never had much luck on Silent Lake assides from the occasional Smallmouth. There are apparently Lakers in there as well. I think the provincial park only rents out canoes, you cant use a motorized boat on Silent Lake, hence the name.
If you're looking to fish, i'd find a better lake...

Nice specs and report. I wonder why they would go through all that trouble for tomatoes heck there are the new hanging tomato plants that come in the green bag just hang them and for get about them until they are ripe sounds alot easier then driving and hiking to grow a garden.
lol

This is a tough one. It's in these dogs nature BUT it should be controllable.
What concerns me is the blank stare, trance like. This is a super dangerous dog. And is the reason for mussel laws for certain breeds.
I would get the strongest shock collar and but this dog into the situation if it didn't respond in a positive manner.
I would put this dog. Even if it's move to a more suburban setting it will just kill small dogs and cats. This dog can never be trusted.
It hurts but do you want this dogs next bad deed on your consensus?
Not sure how much experience you have with working class breeds, but your comments are waaaay offside. She's got a high prey drive, its a husky. Doesnt mean she cant be trusted, doesnt mean she cant be trained, DOESNT mean she should be put down!
TB4ME - I feel for you and can imagine the rift this must have caused in your hosue, I'd take her if i had the room; if all else fails take her to the shelter, they'll find a good home for her.
sorry to hear this...

I've done well on Mitchell right off the canal in front of the big island, spinner baits in the summer were a killer burned back to the boat FAST! I havent seen many pike in there...

Sorry to hear that Mike. I guess the microscope comment was not very useful eh?
Your hedge will all be in and growing nicely soon.....I think folks were just trying to be helpful. Ignore the help you don't need.
ps. Where did your pooch learn to chew on hoses?

The Pinery is hands down my favourity provincial park in southern ontario. Beaches are comprable to north carolina. As mentioned the sites are hard to get, we ususally book six months to the day we want to go. the "dunes" campground is the best by far, several of the sites back right onto the sand dunes. The conservation offices are young go getter type teenagers and love nothing more than to flash their big cat flashlights in your face and bust your chops, however, I seldom get harrased by them in the dunes area.
They have a diner in the park that makes great food to.

GPS on the iphone doesn't work when you don't have cell coverage. So if your fishing up north where you don't get cell service it won't work but the maps will still load if you scroll to them before you lose coverage.
hey Jedi, good to know. I havent tried mine outside of the GTA yet but I was under the impression that it would still work if you dont get coverage in the area b/c your working off a saved map and the GPS technology in the phone doesnt consume much data. Considering I dont have a data plan, I guess I need to buy the darn navionics chip for my humminbird.
anyone selling a Navionics HotMaps chip?!
-
yes! get it!
You dont need to have access to 3G or wireless and you basically save a picture of the area you want to fish ahead of time. I have noticed that it tends to crash my phone fairly often if I scroll around a map too quickly and I have a 4G...
nonetheless, for $16 you cant lose.

My condolences, Dan

If I ever catch a record Ski, for sure I'm keeping it, and I'm going to be famous.
You can all gawk at the pictures, shake my hand at the fishing shows and be jealous all you want. I'll be hood-rich and be hanging out with Miriko Izumi.
babahhahahahahaha

400 South @ Hwy 89..
I guess I got lucky with my Tim Hortons. I however have found massive differences between the Timmys up here and the ones closer to the big smoke. The one little drivethru located on the 400NB just past Major Mac is probably the worst out of all of them. I'm NEVER had a good coffee from that place. I have a feeling they aren't brewing a new batch every 15 mins in order to save $$$.. But that's all speculation.
agreeed, my timmies experiences north of the city are much better, seems like they take a little more pride in their work

I grabbed 2 Suffix 50# and 10# for $30.52.
Live Target frogs were regular price?
I thought they were more than $10? The larger frogs I got were reg. 12.99 and I got em for $10.

went to the CTC at Dixie & Dundas. Got two spools of Suffix and two Live Target Frogs, for $50.76, just enough to get a $10 gift card from CTC as well (They have a promo where you spend $50 and get $10gift card back)
WHat a STEAL!!

Hey Rigged,
We were at the cottage on the Moon this past weekend as well....
Same results as you, just pike, one smallmouth. Was targetting walleye HARD with worm harnesses trolled very slow but NOTHING.
Had a real hard time finding walleye, baitfish, and weeds
James Grisdale is da man!
